Thank you for the nomination, @Laks09 Response by @jmsd in: What Happens When They Pass On I have not much to add to the wise words by jmsd and Laks' nomination above. When we feel grief, it helps to know that others feel like we do too, and that with time we will get stronger at dealing with the grief.
Thank you Viji aunty @iyerviji and @maalti for nominating my post. It is truly appreciated! Dear @Rihana, Oops I think you spoke too soon! I just finished posting another snippet. Appreciate your words, your way of expression is so beautiful! I learnt quite a bit about scrolling reading you!
Hi Maalti, I am so glad you brought this response by @sm123 to FP. I wouldn't have read it otherwise. What Happens When They Pass On Nothing prepares us for the death of a parent. A parent's passing marks a "before" and "after" point in our lives. sm123's response is filled with compassion, gentle hope that the sorrow does abate, or the shadow of the grief is eclipsed by the fond memories. The poem is poignantly beautiful. "Miss me but let me go" is indeed what anyone would wish for their survivors. @sm123 thank you for taking the time and the effort it takes to write on such a topic. I read your words and the poem and feel like going for a long walk or drive to reflect longer on them. But my kid is home from college for the holidays. I cannot simply up and go just like that. I think I will come back to that thread and your post early next week. Thank you for the kind words Maalti. : ) Time flies. We were at the mall recently and I peeped into the store where we had bought and tried out the bras in the fitting room.. To check if that bra is good enough for wearing to the playground (running, jumping) I told her to try jogging in place in the fitting room. : )
Thank you Laks for nominating the response by @1Sandhya: My 10 Year Old Wants A Starter Bra… You are so right about a wall of quotes. I'd put it up on my fridge and maybe as a phone lock-screen too. Lord knows the quotes are more important than an ICE on the lock-screen. : ) "Afford her the opportunity" "Let your daughter feel she can actually come to you with her problems and be heard." Wise words. Most of us parents like to think we are very open to listening to what the kids have to say or want to say. But often we have a response already made up in our minds before the kid is even half way through telling us what is bothering them.
Thank you for the kind words @Rihana. yea, losing the parent and coming out is not easy but yet life has to move on. enjoy your time with your kid and take care!!
My dearest Viji Jaan, it is befitting that a gently reflective post like this one comes to FP courtesy of your nomination. Love And Gratitude by @nandinimithun A calm and peaceful ponder on the year, also a wish and hope for a realized year ahead. The snippet made me also reflect on 2022 and come up with a few casual goals for the new year. Thank you Nandini. I think I found around six points in your post that I am going to use, each for two months, may not be contiguous months. A restful mix and match for the year, if you will. : )
Viji sweetheart, you have wrapped up your nominations for the month and the year with snippets written by two of IL's finest! Indian Women- Are They Less Assertive? by @jayasala42 How the Indian woman manages to assert herself while also being kind can take entire books or epics to describe. Jayasala Ma'am has summarized that quite neatly in a snippet. "Let us not judge the oyster by its outward appearance alone; it produces one of the greatest attractive and valuable pearl!"True indeed. Noise And Joys! by @Srama It is a matter of great joy, noise and celebration that Srama has gives us not one, not two but three snippets this month. : ) Like the other snippets, this one on Noise and Joys also takes me a on an ambling mental stroll that revisits little things and events so far unnoticed. If Srama could bite her tongue and not say anything to the crinkling of wrapping paper, I've surprised myself and the family by not saying anything about the chocolate crumbs on the table and the floor as they break the hard chocolate. I say nothing about how it'll get sticky due to the room heater, how ants might find it by morning, and how it might cling to the feet or socks.
