Thyagu, there are multiple thanks due to you. The first is for the Destiny thread itself. It gave rise to a most interesting discussion from all who responded. Next thanks is for eliciting the responses we got from @Srama. And last but not the least, thank you for bringing this response by @Srama to FP: Destiny - Is It Inviolable? The problem with our dear Srama is that she always feels: I think I have spoken too much Dear Srama, please do not ever believe it when you think that you have spoken too much. : ) I read your responses in the Destiny thread once, and plan to read them again after the college semester finals are over. : ) A lot of grades destiny riding on the final exams due to strikes and what not happening over there. My copy of "Illusions" is decades old and stored with the "India" things, that is things I got with me when I left India for the first time. This quote comes to mind around the year end when we are more reflective and reconnecting with friends: "Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof."
Thank you Viji Jaan. It is indeed a very thought-provoking snippet by @Thyagarajan Destiny - Is It Inviolable? "Destiny is the push of our instincts to the pull of our purpose." ~ Some guy called T.D. Jakes.
I never get satisfied with how much ever she writes and I feel I need to read more of her writings be it in the form of response to others or in her own thread. There is nothing like "spoke too much" in case of @Srama. Every one of her responses in @Thyagarajan Sir's thread are invaluable and great life lessons.
@Rihana - Its the digital era. We are seeing a lot of opinions on the downsides of social media. As such, it’s an invigorating change to read something different. I’m referring to Viswa sir’s Spiritual Media Facebook - A record of our thoughts. Google - Guru to pave the road to right living. Instagram - A review to make one better. And of course the tweets! Told in such a way that I’m yet to figure out if this is satire or just here for information from Guru @Viswamitra! Regardless, it made me laugh and think at the same time and such posts deserve multiple FP nominations. I’d love to nominate Viswa sir for FP!
That would be exciting!!! She always comes up with a unique perspective and will supplement this thread with high-value content especially with some great quotes.
I am so glad Viswa's snippet came to FP before the month ended. Thank you Laks. Spiritual Media by @Viswamitra It is good to see such a thought-provoking thread. No one can stay away from all of social media. Linking that to how we interpret and practice spirituality is so creative. I hope to figure out how my interactions with Gmail fit in this analysis.
Indeed. I thought i would be the First one to nominate philosopher’s yet another brilliant post “Spiritual Medi@“ But alas...man proposes Almighty disposes. I rest content seconding the nomi here.
@Laks09, Thank you for nominating my post here. Initially, my thought was how to attract the young adults with spiritual bent to look at these life lessons with the names that they are familiar with. I did get some good feed back from few of them when I shared it through WhatsApp acknowleding that they got a good idea where to look for self-improvement. When I wrote this thread, at least that was the intent. When I read it multiple times before I posted it here, I felt a great sense of fulfillment that I found the right names such as Facebook for monitoring our thoughts, words and actions that paint a picture of our lives, Google for researching the right-living from the ancient wisdom, Instagram for direct connection with the Lord through prayers and meditation, WhatsApp for what was happening in the mind in response to the world and our well-guided introspection and lastly, Twitter for the chatter that happens consistently in our minds and how we regulate them. I wonder how these social-media platforms chose those names. I am glad you had a good laugh while thinking about this thread even though I didn't intent this thread to be a satire.
Thank you @Thyagarajan Sir for nominating my thread here. Two stalwarts (most respected here in IL) nominating my thread here makes me feel happy and humbled at the same time.
