    @Rihana

    Here is one more nomination of @hrastro response Parental Support During Child Birth. When one is weak emotionally and physically, we tend to find fault with someone who is already doing everything physically possible. She gave a polite but subtle response to OP here. I really liked your quote ""Don’t promise when you are happy, don’t reply when you are angry, and don’t decide when you are sad". I am so happy to see OP's latest response understanding everyone is doing their best and her concerted effort to keep her husband safe in his career despite the testing time.

    Rihana,
    @DDream is on a roll! What more can I say. Her mature response Plight of a MIL to someone who is having trouble with her adult child is all about compassion and finding purpose beyond adult children.

    Some solid advice here. Reinventing oneself is possible at any age! I hope OP finds peace and has a happy retired life.
    I wanted to quote the post entirely but since that isn’t possible, I picked the last bit. I would love to nominate @DDream for FP!

    You are right, Viswa, the calming effect that pets have on humans is indescribable and we have so much to learn from them. Thank you for nominating this snippet by @Caide
    My Life Before And After With Pets
    I hope we will see writings from Caide soon.

    On an unrelated yet related note, each time I read updates about NASA's Orion spacecraft, I think of you. : )

    Sometimes when I read a nominated post, I am taken back in time and have to literally shake myself out of the reverie. Thank you Viswa and Thyagu for bringing to FP this compassionate and gentle response by @hrastro
    Parental Support During Child Birth

    Two of my life's most challenging times were to do with taking care of a baby. One was when the baby like clockwork used to start crying promptly at 8 pm due to colic or whatever. Nothing worked. Finally, one night when it did not cry, I was so stupefied that we caught it on camcorder. I am scolding the baby for not crying on schedule. : ) The other was with a crying baby up in an airplane scheduled to land only after 12 more hours. But I digress.

    HR's response has simple and useful suggestions for getting creative with the day's tasks and routine, how to distribute the work, and how to find time to also rest. Any new mother who happens to read the thread will find the suggestions to be very valuable.
