"Dad do you really have to share your birthday with that ******? (unprintable related" to an equine and an orifice deleted) asked the daughter.
    Sigh , did I have a choice?
But wait, may be I did,
Nope, nobody asked me for my choice of birthdate before I was born but I actually have two birthdays. One of them is my official birthday and today is my REAL birthday.
Officially I was born on June 15 three months before I was born . My date of birth was advanced by my parents so that I didn't miss a school year.
So if I didn't want to share a date of birth with You-know--_who(certainly not Voldemort) I could celebrate my birthday on June 15. But bhakt relatives would bristle. I should actually feel proud that I share a birthday with such a great man, they would say.
I realized that I also share ny birthday with Periyar EV Ramaswamy Naikar, the founding father of the Tamil Nadu Dravidian movement.. Well in his case I saw plus and minus points unlike just minus in You-know-who. He was a rationalist and atheist and that was okay. He was also notoriously parsimonius and that was great too as I myself am a kunjoos. (MNy mom used to call me Shylock)) but how much of a miser can you be that you don't buy a razor for shaving ? And would you believe it? Ugh, he never bathed! He was married twice and how did his wives put up with this? They must have been saints. As a water person who baths regularly this is super yuck for me. Still it is okay, better than you-know who.
As for shifting birthday celebrations to June 15, that to some extent has been a lucky date. Sample this, Once when I went to my bank a lady there checked my records and brightened up.
"Aha, you are a Gemini too? So am I she said"
Nice" I mumbled wondering what was soo nice about that.
After that Whenever I went to the bank, the lady bent backwards to help a Virgo with a Gemini alias. Until she got transferred.
from my branch I did not have the heart to tell her my real zodiac sign,Some times illusions should remain illusions, don't you think?
Well, why should I feel it is an ignominy to share a birthday with that guy so lovingly referred to with an unprintable by daughter dearest? Let me flatter myself, I am generous enough to share my birthday with him.. and it is not the other way MITHRON
PS:: Please don't ask me who us you-know-who. You don't want me to celebrate my next birthday behind bars in Tihar do you? UAPA? Sedition? No thanks.

Many more happy returns @Balajee. You have to be born someday no matter who you share your birthday with. May be your birthday is a saving grace to use as get out of jail ticket someday, even if you were to be taken into custody for your Bhakt hatred or even the leader that leads progress of India from the front based on published reports. Like everyone else, EVR has positives and negatives. His effort to bring upwards those who were neglected socially is commandable. Him marrying a young person who he considered as a daughter brought a lot of brickbats for him as well. I didn't know he never bathed which was news to me.

Your jokes apart, i wish you many Happy returns if the day.
On the day of your birth, it was kind of a return on investment for your parents. They rejoiced then and later every year on this day.
A similar moment of rejoicing on this day of your birth.
Your birthday day seems special because loyalists of Periyar too would be celebrating.

    Happy returns of the day.
I was also born in September month. It so happens that both my sons-in-law were also born in September. That means, as I tell them, all great men were born in September.

Viswa, a belated thanks. I don;t think my date of birth is that powerful ( though I share with some powerful people) that it would keep me away from being behind bars if I rubbed the Great Leader the wrong way. As for EVR, he married a woman in her thirties who worked as his secretary and we really don't know whether he considered her as his daughter.

    Dear @Balajee
    Many happy returns!
In my college, I used to be known as Late Latif, not because I resembled some Latif who ceased to exist but because I was late for everything. That habit has continued till date!
