    Motivate yourself,as No one will:

Some days are hard, some are easy and some are medium..No matter what,we need to move on..We are just traveller to this world..Fulfill the duties and move on..Saying this is easy but following this is not easy.

Starting this thread to share the ideas/thoughts on how you motivate yourself to come out of a blue day in life.

I do lots of painting to distract myself.and ofcourse,I dont get any appreciation about these at home :BangHead: from DH..Over these years,I learned that I do these for myself and not to impress others..Thats how I am happy :cheer:and here is my recently completed one.

    Wow... Your painting looks amazing!

I motivate my life by doing what I like. It gives an immense happiness to the heart.
I dedicate the weekends for myself and the family I love.

My weekends starts with Friday afternoon. I take a nap after work, and order dinner outside. With family, I watch a late night movie (usually reginal movies) and sleep late. Snacking something while watching the movie is a pleasure.

I wake up very late on Saturdays. Of course my kids sleep till noon with me. But my mom & H wake up early as usual, and hence it is their duty to take care of breakfast that day.
Being able to sleep long, and delegate kitchen duty to someone is happiness.

We have a maid who comes once a week on Saturdays to clean the house. She is an African woman. Her presence at home itself makes me immense happiness. She makes the house looks like a spotless 5 start hotel in no time.

We usually do not follow the clock during weekends. So, I & H will start cooking lunch at 1pm and finish an elaborate meal by 3-4 pm. Again resting or napping :)

I love the Saturdays' mall trips with my family, and shopping makes me happy for no reason. We eat dinner outside, and come home very late.

Sundays are special days, they start with Church visits. Followed by a special brunch from a Sri Lankan cook. We order food from her, and it gets delivered at home.

I usually spend the rest of Sundays for myself. Basically self care like, hair packs, home facials, manicure, pedicure, eyebrows etc.... I enjoy pampering myself like this.

If necessary, I go to the parlor (mostly once a month) for treatments (face/hair) on Sundays.

In the afternoon, I will either read a book, or catch up with friends on whatsapp. If I have the mood, I will also sing in Smule singer in collaboration with others and it will go till late night :)

We close the day with some light dinner like bread/butter and that itself gives me a lot of happiness (not having to think what's for dinner).

So, all in all the weekends are my motivation. I thoroughly enjoy the weekends to refuel myself to survive through the hectic weekdays.

As for the weekdays, my biggest motivation is my work. The appreciation & promotions I receive there. The salary, and the allowances etc... the name/fame.

Apart from that, being able to balance home, cook a meal, teach kids at nights, and sharing the day with mom & H is what keeping me going.

ahh... my days are now filled with vibrant shades of blue and purple. :-D

Anyway....i do the following to perk myself up!

    Read a book in kindle
    Listen to my favorite music
    Bake a cake
Cook something so elaborate which usually involves my entire concentration to make me forget my worries
Walk...walk ... walk away my troubles (Side benefit is losing those extra inches also)
Sleep (i use this the most and it is also the most effective calming technique for me. I usually wake up energised and refreshed after a long deep sleep)

AND...if none of the above works

Have a good heartful cry in a corner of my house - alone, loud, wailing sort to get that sorrow within me out

Thats it! i am set to tackle the next set of issues! :)
