Back with you after a long time!
An over helping of modakams and the like that are the favourites of Lord Ganesha made me curl up the whole of yesterday like a python which had just had a fully grown rhinoceros for lunch. Hence, this delay in starting this thread.

Talking of Lord Ganesha, I remember Vinayagar Agaval written by Avvayyar in 14th Century. IT IS A HIGHLY MYSTICAL WORK AND WE ARE TOLD BY SAGES TO READ IT EVEN IF WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING! Dr.Layne Little of Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies has written extensively about this work and has translated the Tamil verses into English. I urge you to read the original in Tamil if you know the language or the English translation of it by Dr.Layne Little.

September has dawned, and that means it's time for our Finest Post sleuths to get active again. Considering the number of awesome posts appearing every day, I am sure that you will find it a pleasurable job to hunt for the best.

I am here to nominate @HariLakhera's thread Religion Is Unfair To Women. He must have done a lot of research to find out where all in the ancient scriptures women were not presented in good light. All of my life, I have been trained to treat women well and told many stories of how women guided the men successfully. Even when I studied epics, I paid more attention to the areas where women did so many sacrifices to make the men's life better such as Mother Sita accompanying Sri Rama to the forest, wife of Lakshmana sacrificing the married life and allowing Lakshmana to accompany his brother, Draupathi marrying 5 brothers to prevent Arjuna's brothers taking sanyasa and so on.

His conclusion is remarkable. Despite all of the struggles women faced from ancient times until now, they have exceled in their performance and continue to perform so well despite the odds. Who can dispute this conclusion? All the saints have told us that women's role in the society is important for the society to flourish well. Sometime back, I wrote a thread about women's welfare mindset and their tendency to sacrifice for the well-being of others. We still need to break a lot of evil practices and obstacles women face in their day to day life and it is time to show the gratitude to the women for their contribution to the society. In fact, I have and continue to spend my life awestruck by the contributions women make everyday. There is so much to learn from them.

    Dear Shri Viswa,
Thanks for your very kind words and nominating my post, first of the more nominations to follow as the group is full of fertile and experienced members.
The subject is very dear to me. I read Gita and Ramayan regularly and when I read these lines bout women, I am aghast. I can understand the reasons for Tulsi Das but the Lord Himself? That brings me to accept that these are not God's words.
As you correctly said, women are known for their sacrifices and no one can belittle that. However, even today, women are exploited emotionally and physically all over the world.

    Sir,
It’s good to see you driving the FP! I read this post and wanted to nominate right away but life got in the way and before I knew it, FP for august was locked. Maybe @sm123 is a September person!
Please look into her post Does Big House Get More Happiness.
Here she is grappling with the absurdity of not knowing how to feel.
It’s this heartfelt plea right at the beginning of the post that caught my eye. The post goes on to describe various ways she tried to not be that jealous person but how the unfairness got to her.
She has laid out what she tried and is looking for suggestions from others. She goes through the thread being open to suggestions and trying to improve her situation.

I don’t know about the outcome but I do know that people who take feedback and come back and execute them on a
    daily basis are my people.

I’d love to nominate sm123 for the finest post.

I am here to nominate @Srama's thread Frankie's Journey!. We all know when she writes anything here in IL, she writes with such a passion to express her heart in crystal clear way. It is amazing to read the journey of Frankie until he gets back home with the help of the compassionate couple. Reading articles to ensure what Frankey expects especially when he doesn't have the ability to communicate what he really wants, is the height of compassion. She writes so well helping us to feel our presence in the journey of Frankie.
