Do You Shower Before, After Visit To Doctor, Labwork?

OK it's a slightly weird question, agreed, but then you are here after reading the thread title, so don't blame me for asking. : )

I am just curious as others in my family do not vary their shower schedule based on medical appointments.

Question:
Do you take a shower:
1) Before going to a doctor's appointment
2) After coming home from a doctor's appointment
3) Before going for a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound, mammogram, colonoscopy.
4) After coming home from a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound etc.

I am leaving out dental and eye doctor visits.

1) Before going to a doctor's appointment
I used to take a "body bath, not head bath" shower before doctor's appointments for a long time. In the last 5-10 years, I've modified that. Without getting into details: I make sure the odor prone areas are washed or wiped with lots of water and soap before I go to the appointment. My prep depends on if the cheerful medical assistant is going to tell me, "disrobe waist down", "disrobe waist up", "leave undergarments on", or "disrobe completely."

2) After coming home from a doctor's appointment
Always unless I am too sick to do so. Then, an old bedsheet is laid over the entire bed including pillow.

3) Before going for a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound, mammogram, colonoscopy.
Same as #1 above actually. If not disrobing, I save the shower for after.

4) After coming home from a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound etc.
Almost always. Plus all the clothes go into the wash. This is a habit from before pandemic times.

I went for an ankle area x-ray today post lunch and post shower, and was ticked off at having to lie down. I was expecting a stand up only x-ray. My hair touched the paper on the x-ray table. Yikes. : )

Interesting habits

Before doc/lab works - quick bath -- no hair generally
After doc/lab works - a little longer bath -- may/may not iinclude hair

since pandemic
-- first thing wash hands and no sitting/touching of stuff at home except with washed hands
-- go shower asap
-- clothes pealed off and put in an isolated laundry basket too

Have a husband with OCD issues @_@

Those IVF treatment days : when I had to leave home at 7 am and be at the clinic 7 45 , so that I can finish my scan ASAP(the first one always)and get back to work by 9 am , I always used to take shower and go. The cooking and dabba packing used to happen before 7 am. So from the hospital directly used to rush to office. So always having a shower n going helped me plus didn't really have time to come back and shower .
Plus a transvaginal scan - you want to be neat

Between consultation and taking shower at home, there is a strong possibility of virus spreading enroute and get glued to the car that one drive and other articles that one carry and or use. Better to wear a protective suit that covers head to foot that can be discarded at hospital itself as soon as business is over. On return journey from hospital, one can go for a sauna bath if one readily available nearby.

Pre- pandemic time, i would always prefer showering before the hospital visit.
During the pandemic, if the appoinment was scheduled in the morning, have preferred showering after the hospital visit. If it was scheduled later during the day, would shower before and after as well.

Most times, I shower before doc appointment. I have habit of showing before leaving the house, shopping or doc (any sort of doc, even kids /peds) but specifically ob-gyn.

1) Before going to a doctor's appointment - Yes,
2) After coming home from a doctor's appointment - no, rarely as i shower before. Unless I have not showered before for some basic appointment and feeling sweaty. Like before covid, when we were going to off, we wont always get shower in access.
3) Before going for a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound, mammogram, colonoscopy. -- same, as i tend to shower before i leave house, just out of habit.
4) After coming home from a blood test, x-ray, ultrasound etc.
