Hey all! I’m sure all know about my family and my life. Today is krishna jayanti! I want to make items for the poojai in the evening. If I have to make them then I have to take off early from my work.
My husband is not recommending that. He really not v keen! He will do puja with out any items I make. He is not really bothered. But family tradition is to make the items, so I’m in a dilemma what should I do? Take off early or cancel any such preparation and just do the puja with fruits? I’m confused and I’m breaking my head. Please help me

    Hi Indu,

Traditions are manmade and Lord Krishna is looking for devotion from the devotees and nothing more. Patram (leaf), Palam (fruit), Pushpam (flower) and Thoyam (Water) are the four that are needed for any puja. The learned people describe these words as Patram (physical presence), Palam (Mind), Pushpam (Heart), and Thoyam (the tears of devotion). It is not what you offer that matters but how much devotion you show for Lord Krishna that matters.

Live your life. Why do you care about him and give explanation. If you feel like taking half day off, making all arrangements, if that brings you happiness, go for it. If he dont want that its up to him. You can do Pooja in whatever way you like it. Its all in your mind.

I dont understand why you give this much importance on his opinion on taking half day off from your job or his permission to do so.

Then stop doing anything, let him do what he wants the way he prefer. If he ask your help or opinion its ok, if not, no point in going after him. Whats the point doing pooja if he cant treat you well. You can connect with god without any materialistic thing. Its in our mind.
If you like to relax by taking half day off on this special day go as per your wish. If not, leave is not required. Have a happy krishnajayanthi.
