Got this forward..At 1:02.. Andrea jerimiah says something about women right? I really did not mean what she said? Even a married women can? In what context she meant?
Andrea's statement was on casting couch. Women have the right to decide and men have no right to force women to do that for any reason. I think pink movie has also passed the similar message.
She has clear thoughts on the topic and speaks confidently, that was nice to see. I liked when she said something like: "if a director or a producer says you can work in this movie only if you sleep with me, I will walk out of that room. there is no doubt. Because I respect my work too much." She said "I respect my work.." which stood out over the usual "I respect myself ..." After that at 1:02, she makes it clear that she will not judge any woman who sleeps with a man by choice. Perhaps she means if a woman wants to use sex to advance her career, that is her choice and she has the right to do that. She then says "the man does not have a right to force a woman to do that for any reason whatsoever." The interview is from Nov 2017, so maybe #MeToo was becoming a trend. I don't see anything controversial in what she said. If her comment is made gender-neutral: A person (married or single) can sleep willingly with anyone they choose, they have that right. One person forcing another person to do so is wrong. In particular, if a person has power or some authority over another person, and uses that power to get sex, it's wrong.
It does not matter if she is an actress, housewife or journalist.. An housewife is obviously married and she has the right to sleep with whoever she wants when married.. An actress can also be a married woman. A journalist can also be a married woman.. when one is single or not involved emotionally with someone..it is different but when married? so didn’t understand that context of what she meant regards that
She is talking about a (i) person sleeping with someone of their own free will versus (ii) a person forced to do that for a movie role, promotion or career advancement. You are right. She seems to imply that a married person has the right to sleep with anyone they like. I guess she didn't want to criticize female actors (married or unmarried) who choose to advance their career by willingly sleeping with the director/producer. It would have been nice if a reporter had asked a follow-up question/ clarification. That being absent, the gist of her message is about (i) versus (ii). Ideally, she should have left out "housewife" from her statement and kept only journalist, actress. Adding the "housewife" diluted her message.
