That's what this movie is all about. Half a dozen movies were released whose theme was minorities being ill treated. It did not incite the majority Hindus. But one pro pandit movie incited terrorists. One movie which showcases the pain of minorities who are majority in the rest of the country. We cannot even make movies which voice out the opinion of a section of people. But the other section can keep repeatedly making movies on a done to death theme. Where were these people when movies like Fanaah and Haider were made? What is the Indian army supposed to do? Why are we tolerating and celebrating themes where the country's army is shown as coward and rogue? Does this happen anywhere in the world?

Radicals pelted stones at Ram Navami processions because they were provoked by loudspeakers.

Terrorists killed Rahul Bhat in J&K because they were provoked by film Kashmir Files.

What's the next theory to normalize terror?

Suicide bomber blew up because he provoked himself?

Conspiracy to intimidate & stop return of Hindus to Kashmir by locals who would have to return the looted properties.

Appears to be an attempt by anti nationals & criminals residing locally to derail the return of Hindus, being portrayed as a terrorist attack.

There are no movies taken to portray the army personnel as coward and rogue. But there is a history of army personnel being punished in their own country for straying away from the lawful orders or executing illegal orders to afflict injury to the civilians. Both army and police force also are unanswerable for causing injury to the civilians, if it is proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Good justice system and good governance will make them accountable if they are answerable.

Where is it in the history book when the Sikhs were systematically attacked in New Delhi and surrounding areas after Indra Gandhi was assasinated by two Sikhs who were in her security detail? Where is it in the history book when Muslims were massacred in Gujrat riots after a few terrorists lighted a train? Where is it in the history book when so many innocent Muslims were killed in brought day light after the terrorist attacks in 1993 in Mumbai? Are we of the opinion that all reactions are condonable?

Why the country didn't shed any tears for those innocent civilians? Why no one objected for those major events not in the history books? Is it because they belong to the minority religion and they don't matter? Was there an uprising seeking justice in the above examples?

A good government should bring all who were responsible for all of the above crimes along with those terrorists who caused harm to the Kashmir Pandits. Is this government capable of bringing all those who were responsible to books in all of the above examples?

Wasn't congress in power then? It's the responsibility of the existing government at that time to take action?
Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ordered a military assault on the most significant religious center for the Sikhs, Darbar Sahib (i.e., the Golden Temple) in Amritsar, Punjab. The attack killed lots of civilians too.
Congress was complicit in the Sikh genocide that followed after Indira Gandhi's assassination.
The violence was allegedly led (and often perpetrated) by Indian National Congress activists and sympathizers. The Congress-led government was widely criticised for doing little at the time and possibly conspiring in the riots.

Yes. You are right. Congress government should have taken action on those responsible for killing innocent Sikhs. They couldn’t do it because Congress leaders were complicit in that. Who was responsible for Gujarati riots and who was the Chief Minister in Gujarat? My point is, all politicians including the people in current government are biased and no one is a saint when he is in politics.

    Just for mulling.

In the present context, a Feedback From an Army Veteran on Supreme Court's Order on Human Rights in Kashmir an interesting read

An Army veteran, who lost a family member to a militant’s bullet, has raised an agonising pointer to the Supreme Court, “How much do you know about the brutality of war?

How many of you have sent your progeny to the armed forces?

Have you ever lost a family member in the defence of the country?

Do you know the pain of losing a young son or having a widowed daughter or seeing your grandchildren grow up without their father?
If not, please do not impede our war effort. Human rights sound very nice when you and your families are safely ensconced in secure air-conditioned homes but not when you are facing bullets and stone of a unruly religious fanatic mob.”

Applying the Court directions to the Pulwama incident, an FIR will be lodged against Gunner Rishi Kumar who risked his life and killed two terrorists despite being hit on his headgear.

Police investigations will carry on for years haunting him even when posted to other places in India.

Courts will issue summons and demand his presence. He will be accused of depriving the ‘innocent’ jihadis of their human rights and asked to justify the killings.
He will be queried, Are you sure they were terrorists? They did not kill you, why did you kill them?
He will be asked "Did you give them adequate opportunity to surrender and reform themselves?" Did you give them a fair chance to escape?
Did you fire warning shots in the air?"

Instead of lauding his bravery, he will be subjected to judicial witch-hunt.
What a disgrace for the nation!

Subjecting active military operations to judicial review is an outlandish idea. Whereas all nations empower their soldiers to vanquish enemies of the state, India takes pride in shackling them.

While addressing the U.S. Naval Academy in April 2010, *Secretary of Defence Robert M Gates of USA had said, “You have answered the trumpet call. For my part, I consider myself personally responsible for each and every one of you as though you were my own sons and daughters. And when I send you in harm’s way, as I will, I will do everything in my power to see that you have what you need to accomplish your mission – and come home safely."

Apparently, India’s Supreme Court thinks differently. Human rights of the enemies of the state appear to be far more important than the security of the country.

Finally, as a serving officer commented wryly, “The Supreme Court has given us two options – get killed and the country will honour your martyrdom or
kill the terrorist and face police/judicial investigations for years."

His apprehensions are genuine and shared by the most. Wonder which soldier will look forward to serving in such antagonistic environment!

I cannot watch this movie. I'm at the age where things stay in the brain, especially things like this. I now only want to watch something light.

But to say that its screening is not required, not needed is a mockery of the victim's dilemma. I have seen 1000 movies on Gujarat riots, Kashmir issues ( in different angles), and many more basically favoring a certain segment, and for once when a spade has been called spade why so much hullaballoo!

To watch or not watch is a personal decision but generation needs to know history, both sides and then decide.

Secondly, i did watch a small clip where Brakha Dutt felt so sorry not for the exodus but how Pundits have actually taken over all lucrative jobs in the valley. the tone was but it they invited this to themselves!
I mean seriously they did not have it at gun points. They studied qualified and got it.!
Im also not sure where India is going with all this hate, lost and newfound but i read something which I am understanding now.
"If you are not with left in your twenties you do not have heart and if you don't turn right by 30 you don't have brain"

I grew my brain I think.
