Everything is there in the History books. It depends on whom we trust. I have been to Jammu and Kashmir some 12 years back. It is a beautiful land. Locals want to live in peace and earn their livelihood. Their sons and daughters are in different states of India for higher education and jobs.
However, they have never felt safe with India or Pakistan, as both have been exploiting them for political gains. It will remain so and even if there is a solution, both sides will not agree.
Producer of Kashmiri Files has made two hundred crores of rupees and still counting. I have never seen any movie where Governments paid for the tickets and allowed one day of leave for its employees to watch the movie.

may be so, but by this argument, no riot, no violence , no protest must be given screen time or air time but we see “journalist” play and over play certain (religious) situations while completely sweeping others under the carpet. If we don’t acknowledge wrong happenings, they are bound to reoccur. the Pandits waited for 30 years to just be acknowledged! Can you imagine their pain of not being heard or seen? (Like their lives don’t matter because … ummm.. it is anybody’s guess! ) Where is the justice in that? And now that the world knows about it the motive of the movie maker is questioned? Why not question the motives of the “journalists” who are obliged to report the truth but did not do so, all these years? How about the motive of the politicians or the judicial system? Why is it reporting some incidents more inflammatory than others?

No everything is not there in history books.
When I studied history in CBSE school, it was a glorification of mughals. They built that this. The taj.
The killings, Massacre of locals by them was mentioned lightly.
In The freedom fights Gandhi was given lots of credit.yes, it depends on who writes the textbooks.
Not sure how much the Kashmiri Pandits exodus has been mentioned In today's history school books.

Also, Singapore ban of this movie has been tweeted by congress and most newspapers. They are slamming it as propaganda movie.
So the pain of the pandits is funny for them.
What's the big deal with Singapore?

A #KashmiriPandit government employee was today shot dead by terrorists, in what appears to be a targeted attack, at his office in #Chadoora town of #Budgam district in #JammuAndKashmir. The killing triggered massive protests from the minority community in #Kashmir and drew strong condemnation from political parties. The police said two terrorists barged into the tehsil office in Chadoora and shot point-blank at #RahulBhat. The victim was posted as a clerk in the revenue department under a special employment package for Kashmiri migrants in 2010.

I am not familiar with the journalism in India but here in the US, the journalists have some principles such as a) is it authentic?, b) can it be verified through their sources?, c) Is it too graphic and whether it is necessary to release the video or summarize it verbally?

For example, the US journalist never showed videos of the terrorists executing American journalists, military personnel and even those who visited the country to provide services. It is their belief that showing such graphic images not only affects the sentiments of Americans but also emboldens the terrorists.

May be the journalists had good intention not to share graphic files like this to avoid unnecessary provocation in the rest of the country. I lived in Mumbai during 1992 bomb blasts and I lived through how many lives have been lost in the blast and more lives lost in reactions. It is my view that those responsible for such massacre must be brought to Justice by the government in power at that time and we can’t blame only the journalists.

I do not know that. I was talking of history books, records of events of the past. Parzania movie was made in 1962 but was not allowed to be screened as it was the true story of the Gujrat riots. I am not sure if there is any reference to that in school textbooks.
If we really want to know about history, we have to read books by different writers available in the libraries. Even Government records can not be trusted.
I do not think the British will tell their school kids why they were driven away from India and many other countries. They will say we granted them freedom after teaching them how to administer.

In a viral video, his widowed wife blamed everything on BJP Government, headed by
Modi. Kashmir was already tense and actions in the last few years have further deteriorated the situation. No Kashmiri Pandit is ready to go there under hostile conditions. Now delimitation has opened new doors of bias.

This is precisely why such files shouldn’t be screened. We could fight all we want for justice but a sensible act of not releasing the file would have avoided such an incident.
