    please take note of the extent of US military aid to Ukraine… Since 2014 (up until the Russian invasion), the US had sent Ukraine $3 billion for ‘security assistance’ (weapons, training and intelligence), and a further $3 billion for ‘non-lethal assistance' (soft power). Since the invasion, the US has sent another $13.6 billion, (over half ear-marked for the military) and then yet another $300 million solely for weapons. So, since the US orchestrated coup of 2014, the US oligarchy has spent at least $13 billion (of your dollars) in the strategic militarisation of Ukraine. Now add to this another billion or two from the EU and other US minions; and even arms from traditionally neutral Sweden and Finland… Personally I believe Putin acted just in the nick of time… If US controlled Nato had managed to put missiles on Russia’s borders, then the days of ‘mutually assured destruction’ were over, and humanity would’ve been knocking on Heaven’s door.

    The United States believes every country has the right to pursue its own foreign policy which is in alignment with US foreign policy.

    One only has to look at how many governments the US has overthrown or assisted in overthrowing to know the United States does not believe every country has a right to decide it's own foreign policy in reality.

    NATO did not even try to pretend that there is an effort to broker a ceasefire and prevent unnecessary bloodshed. They just poured gasoline on fire. The weapons that were shipped to Ukraine were a death sentence for the receivers.

    @Indulbalram,

    What you have provided are not facts but opinions. It is the Ukranian who elected this new President and ousted the Russian-leaning leader. Do you think it is appropirate for Russia to take over Crimea? Do you think even if Russia wins this battle, they will be able to change the mind of Ukranians? If Russia invades an independent nation unprovoked, what do you expect the world to do, just keep quiet? Do you think all of these military supplies are sent unsolicited to Ukrane without them asking for it? Do you understand what it takes for the US government to provide military supplies including Congress approval? You blame the US and NATO so much that they should have prevented the bloodshed. What do you have to say about Russia which is causing it? I don't think you have all the facts right.

    Viswa, These labs supposedly for defense against biological and chemical weapons existed long before anyone, including Russia dreamed of attacking Ukraine. Legitimate government agency tag does not mean anything. Even CIAI is a legitimate government agency and it does a lot more than gathering intelligence. It is not for nothing that it is known as the Department of Dirty Tricks. The democracies it has toppled and dictatorships it has set up during cold war are legion. So ""legitimate" tag does not mean anything , and why pray a country bordering Russia? America has openly reserved the right to use "nonlethal" bio and chemical weapons. But who is to decide what is lethal or non-lethal. The Biological Weapons Convention has no provision for inspection. And sometmes non-lethal can be worse than lethal. Say lifelong handicapped or bed0ridden?

    The west is trying to wean India away from its neutral stand by raising Chbina Bogey. Biden, Boris Johnson and now EU chief have all tried it . BGut it isn't going to work. Putin has meanwhile struck a blow against west declaring that Russia will henceforth trade in oil only for rubles and will not accept dollars or Euros.Even countries like France have distanced themselves from Biden's intemperate ravings on Russia.
