I went to a shop to try out some clothes and found a very cute dress.I loved it and it suited me well but..I thought the dress was more appropriate for someone between the ages of 18 to max 30..

I didn’t buy the dress though it looked good on me.

Also I don’t buy logo tops..

My tastes have changed a bit and I started to dress my age ..

Just a casual thread.Do you try to dress your age or just buy anything that fits or suits you?

    I dress as I wish

I’ve been through some difficulties with people that now I don’t care what they think

one time I was fierce adamant about wearing long Kurti and skirt set at an event and didn’t care if people thought I was weird

    I got compliments

Please go back to shop and buy what you like

:hello:I was brooding since date of OP posting this fun thread, whether I should participate here in discussion!

I presume the question is largely addressed to OP’s inner circle.

I thought thread’ objective was to make the reader to contemplate about his or her dress-sense and gather whether friends in the neighbourhood follow fashion trend and grab whatever trendy to project themselves that they are abreast with fashion in vogue!

Dress sense largely depends on once purse, associations that one keeps & the profession to which person belong.

At school as a boy I always desired to dress up like a man, a rich man, a business magnate. I turned bit meticulous in my attire, during graduation from a coed college.

Certain geographies & local culture define what one should wear.
But eventually it all boils down to comfort level, convenience & to tolerate prevailing weather.

Once during Navarathri celebration, I dressed up like a girl & visited with sisters to see golu in the neighbourhood. But when I was asked to sing my voice revealed who was me!

Few parsimonious-rich prefer to act like poor, dress up even in tattered-clothes.

A poor colleague attend college wearing new shirt and trousers almost everyday. When I asked him how come, he revealed the secret. He befriended the owner of a laundry & a tailor in shops opposite his dwelling. My colleague hired the just stitched ready-dress for a day.

I have seen photos of honeymoon couple exchange sporting dress of the other.

God makes man but only Tailor makes gentleman!

I feel one should buy clothes matching their age group Bc that would show that we are matured ! I prefer that!

Yes I feel we should dress according to our age unless we are so lucky to have a fabulous skin and weight that we naturally look 20 years younger than our age.

Taking the example of palazzo, some ladies wear and carry it so comfortably/gracefully whereas when some ladies wear it looks like they were short of cloth, to stitch full length pant. It looks so odd on them.

I think till 40 45 years ladies can experiment with different types of dresses, but after that they should wear age appropriately.

If you are living in the US/Europe it should be okay. As long as it fits you and you don't look like you are exposing or barely managing to fit in. As long as you are not wearing dresses specifically marked for juniors it is okay to wear any dress. I cannot wear stockings, I am not comfortable, somehow any dressing - I manage to look like a plain Jane. Fashion and I just don't go together. Location is more important than age as a factor for dressing.

    I don't know....

But I am sure, I dress according to my body & comfort level.
I never considered age factor when it comes to choosing my clothes.

A decade before, post my delivery I looked heavy. I looked shapeless, and I had problems in life that prevented me from grooming myself. So, I always chose lose, comfortable & simple clothes.
I didn't have the confidence to wear fitting modern clothes back then.

Years later, I managed to shed all my pregnancy weight. After resolving my marital issues, I was able to concentrate on myself more, started grooming and self caring. Which resulted in a perfect body, mind, hair and skin.

Now that, no one can guess my age. I look much much younger than I looked a decade back.

Now that, I can carry any clothe that suits my body (not just the physique, but the skin, hair, style etc...) and culturally appropriate
