What Movie did you Watch Today????????

Watched Gehraiyan on Amazon Prime. It is described in imdb as: "Takes you on a journey into the deep rooted intricacies of modern human relationships."

I loved watching it. The movie touches upon many relationships spanning generations, not just between the lead pair. Deepika Padukone has acted well, so has Siddhant Chaturvedi in most scenes. Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor do their usual excellent job. Ananya Pandey did well too, though, at only 23 years, she cannot be compared to Deepika's 36.

I liked this movie more than the other hits on similar topic. The second half is more riveting. I wish the 2 hr 28 minutes had been shaven down by 15-20 minutes.

After more people have watched it, would be nice to talk about the story and the choices the characters make.

Simple thriller, good acting by Shefali Shah and Vidya Balan. Well supported by Rohini Hattangadi, Manav Kaul and three younger lesser known or new faces: Vidhatri Bandi, Surya Kasibhatla, and Shafeen Patel.

The trailer can be a bit misleading. Though the movie is about a hit and run, it is not filled with violence. It focuses more on human relationships, guilt, honesty, and the bonds that prevail over the rich-poor divide. Very nice to see Shefali Shah get another role that utilizes her acting talent. Vidya Balan also did well but the dress choices could have been better. Even the saree she wears for a photo shoot in the movie made her look awful. Wonder why they chose a curtain kind of thick velvety fabric for the saree.

The biggest delight was the acting delivered by the child actor Surya Kasibhatla, who is an inspiration by himself.

Dasvi Hindi movie on Netflix. An eight-grade pass uneducated politician who has to be in jail for a while ends up studying for class 10 exams. Interesting story and it had a talented star cast: Abhishek Bachchan as the politician, Nimrat Kaur (Lunchbox) as the politician's initially clueless then scheming wife, Yami Gautam as the principled jail superintendent.

Okaayyy movie. Worth a watch if you badly need a distraction and nothing else appeals. Or, in an airplane and sleep just won't come. If the two hours are dispensable in all ways.

The last 30-40 minutes are the better part of the movie though these also have cringe-worthy scenes. The stern superintendent arrives with a katori bowl and chamcha spoon in hand to feed him dahi-cheeni curd &sugar before the exam.

The few redeeming scenes were those with Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek at the very beginning and the very end.

All the actors did well but each has much better movies.
