Honestly am disliking this trend of "star" divorces...
Marriages are becoming like use and throw and this is kind of setting some wrong image to the youngsters.
Please dont throw brickbats at me saying that I am in regressive mindset..
I am against abusive relationship..but how is that so many marriages are failing..Is this generation calling it Splits at the drop of their hat?

True, it is setting a wrong trend. Already I feel upcoming generation does not have patience or not ready for even small adjustments (not all but many are like that). Am not telling we need to accept everything and stay married but at the same time see if there are options to make it work.

Issues leading to splits/divorces were there in previous generations too. The reason why we didn't see so many splits then is because of helplessness, lack of independence, social taboos/pressures and ofcourse, kids. If we have to count how many of the older generations checked-out emotionally & mentally, yet existed just for the name sake, they would outnumber the current statistics of divorces.

Media also plays a crucial role, the more you see things while growing up, the more probability of it getting registered as an option. Hence lesser tolerance in the current generation.

Also, we now live in the world which glorifies "me first" mentality. Marriages won't survive on that foundation. it is a huge commitment which, at times, demands more than what we can offer. That is the line where most of them get filtered. Depends on each individual as to how much is too much.

    I am talking about non-abusive relationships. Abuse doesn't deserve a chance/tolerance, whatsoever!

Indian marriage is a male dominated system, the system is getting dismantled slowly during this process women are getting educated and becoming independent so they don’t want to tolerate these nonsense you will see this trend till the society is transformed fully someday.

For centuries, this has been a system actively follow. It’s also projects the boy and his family as superior to the girl’s and the girl’s parents are ‘expected’ to service the boy’s family with special treatment. The amount of dowry often becomes an issue of contention between the two families, and eventually leads to pressure on the girls who either suffer the marriage or kill themselves.

honestly Indian society is complex and lot hypocritic than shown outside.

we have seen film actions have multiple marriages in old gen too. sridevi, hemalini.

i cannot judge much on this recent event. I saw one movie it is a old one PAGE by konkana sen, seeing that changes my views a lot.
