Right now Imam a bit frustrated

I am studying for Microsoft certification. The coursework includes lab with c# and python code.

One of the objectives of exam is to be PROFICIENT in C# and Python. This is to understand what the program is doing.

When I ask any instructor they about coding proficiency they
    - brush off my concern
    - say that instructor doesn’t design the exam
    - says whether you get 700 or 1000 out of 1000 you are certified

I think this is all bulls4it. sorry for strong words, I’m kinda frustrated. Instructors only want you to pass, not learn the material.

Few months back an IL posted about how hard it is to get job because schooling in India teaches you how to pass the exam, it does not teach you to learn and understand the material. It was programming, I think.

    Here are my concerns:

    - I want to truly study and LEARN the material so it can help me move forward (right now I work with oldies (some are gold, most are mold) and want to move to job, position with young whipper snappers. Like-minded young whipper snappers.

    - I wish to study in-depth, but am concerned I am spending PRECIOUS TIME AND RESOURCES on material beyond the exam

And there is one module in the exam that is relatively new to the exam, which even the Instructors don’t have a grasp on. I’m hoping to have a decent understanding before my next scheduled class.

I’ve been trying to grasp this module for almost 2 months (1 module of 12)

Fortunately my job pays for unlimited online training, but we got to take our Personal time to do it (I try to spread the same live online training every 4 to 6 weeks)

This is not just a vent. Can you give some viable ideas?

just pass the certification for the sake of certification . it helps your resume pass the bot sometimes.

now the learning part. C# and python are good. but what are you trying to learn. means what kind of problem you are trying to solve

example C#- api - crud based . try to make some examples.
add logging (may be serillog or log4j)
    dockerize and host in cloud.

now you are have functional app.

    or game programming.
or simply algorithms - then goto hackerrank.com

    these are examples.

do not fall in tutorial hell trap.
you cannot master C# or even python. it is like mastering tamil. ocean. however you can improve on specific portions of problem solving.

it’s sad but true, gotta pass for the sake of passing due to these bots.

I enjoy the subject matter though

We are using c# and python to communicate with a cloud application to do various AI tasks.

I guess I need to look at code and answer question, what are these lines doing.
I was tempted to go down the tutorial rabbit-hole.

I guess I was worried about the nitty gritty, hence creating unneeded anxiety

Mastering Tamil, I like that analogy!
