    Dear @NOW ,

Woderful job of assessing your routine. You are busy! It is indeed very important to spend that time with your little ones - no matter how they feel or what their nature is. You will be happier and I am glad you are able to do it.
That said, right from the beginning even when I was not doing all these things and when my kids were little I have had a practice of waking up an hour early before everyone and finish cooking for the day! For me that seemed like the most important thing to do. DH was/is very supportive and if the babies woke up or kids needed something during that time, he would take care.

Even now my DD has swimming at 5.30 am DH has his morning routine and it upsets his routine more than mine if he were to drop - he has to take half hour off for this. So though her swim practice is at the opposite side of my gym, here I am on the road between 5 and 5.45 am. I have realized that keeps the day going better for all of us. So we figured it works best with me, especially since I will be stepping out anyways at 5.30 for gym! Now all I do is step out at 5.10 am. So instead of waking up at 5, now I wake up at 4.30 am to fit in "me time" for my half hour activities.

The long and short of it is - no matter what stage you are at in your challenge, it helps to carve that time out for yourself first thing in the morning. It took me years to get to that habit. I urge you to consider that - just 20 to 30 mins before you tell the world "I am all yours".

And I cannot stay up later than 10.30 pm Some days I have to prepare quite extensively for school and I end up staying late. I am also studying to get a master's degree and I put in a lot of late nights to complete that course work. The constant tweaking continues even at this age and stage in life.

This is true! Learning that art of tweaking is even more important. Like I mentioned earlier, just as you think you have some sembelance of normalcy or control, something else will pop up - something that you may want to do.

Holding close to heart that "half hour to 1.5 hours me time" - whether it was cooking and getting the house ready back then or the challenge now, will help you thrive! I am impressed with what you have written and what you are doing. Though I am ot sure how much my repsonse helped, i want to tell you that you are doing amazing! Look forward to your updates.

You have no idea how much this helps as in my opinion there is no better teacher than the one who lives the lessons by themselves. My ultimate goal is to knock down my mindful practices - meditation, journaling to set the intention/ plan for the day apart from exercise in my morning routine. I will take baby steps and see how it goes. Currently I am in a mixed mode with hitting my physical wellness goals but not my mental wellness goals due to kids skipping school on&off .. blame the omicron surge ! Thanks a bunch for your motivating words and inspiring me :) .

You are such an inspiration! These days when I feel lazy and try to find excuses to not workout, I ask myself, “What would Srama do?” : )
