"It is December and nobody asked if I was ready."
    - Sarah Kay

That’s how December comes. Whether one is ready or not, it arrives. For those who make resolutions and attempt to follow them in the year, it is the time of reckoning. Should one make a last ditch effort and try to be successful at at least some of the resolutions? Or, be more practical and get a head-start on next year’s resolutions?

No matter which path you choose with the resolutions, do make nominating posts a part of that.

Happy December, folks. I hope you receive whatever you wish for. I want only a good book, a long weekend and my phone switched off.

    "my phone switched off."
I am all with you! I am tired of all the cartoons depicting humans like zombies with a phone stuck to their ears.
    A great opener madam!

    Rihana,
Happy December! For me, it's the time to run around from pillar to post, get that tree up because DS has already changed his calendar and wants it NOW, pick up gifts for teachers, therapists, support staff, DH, DD, DS, cleaning lady, DS's hair lady who comes home and so on and so forth. We also have two December birthdays.

By the time the New Year rolls around, I'm ready to return to my routine. Then, when I'm finally free of the holiday chaos, there is this nagging feeling. @Metamorphic has summed it up well!
The intellectual frustration or untapped potential dilemma plaguing men and women in their 40s is very real. Metamorphic has identified the issue and has given a simple suggestion to keep the mind from ruminating.

I would like to nominate Metamorphic's post I Crave For Some Change In Life.. for FP.

My Dear Viji, thank you for the first nomination.

Modern families educate daughters as much as sons, the daughters go on to earn money and progress in their careers just like the sons. But still, there is a difference. Still, women are made to feel like their achievement is somehow less than that of the sons.

@Reesha has highlighted this well in her post Why Girl Career Is Always Secondary? and it resulted in interesting responses too.

Viji sweetheart, it was thoughtful of you to bring this solemn post to FP:
    Bereavement by @GoneGirl

Grief is not an easy thing to write about. GoneGirl managed to echo the thoughts, questions, feelings and emotions we experience when we deal with grief. Such a thread and its responses help readers feel a connection with others when at their most vulnerable.

Thank you for this nomination, Laks. It is a succinct pondering and response by @Metamorphic : I Crave For Some Change In Life..

Mahatma Gandhi said, "I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” Our own evaluations of ourselves can bother us more than the words of others. My biggest take-away from Metamorphic's post was how to keep our mind from bugging us -- keep it busy. : )

    @Rihana,

I am here to nominate Smt. Jayasala's (@jayasala42) thread You Are Very Much'in Time'. It made me contemplate the root cause of comparison and how it affects my growth and development. A very effective thread for all of us to introspect.

Thank you for the nomination, Viswa. Upward and downward comparison is something most of us do unconsciously. It's a habit worth paying attention to and taming.
