We left Singara Chennai on 11th of this month and slowly settling down in the city of gardens. The incline weather condition keeps us struggling and I feel that it will be difficult until the weather condition improves.
What to say? I feel like a babe in the woods. Even the IL formate has also somewhat changed and I have to pick up the loop.
I have one solace that Swathi Iyer contacted me and she told that she is pretty close to our house and that she would come to see me. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Of course I am staying with my son and he will take care of us. My grandson had joined Bits Pilani Rajasthan and he is having online class and granddaughter is in ninth standard and she is also having online class. My son is working in IISC and goes to office three days in a week. He is also a consultant in IT. Work from home has become a part of life.My D-I-L is also doing the same. Hence all of them are busy.
I was just hesitating to post this as I felt it might be boring to the readers.

Nice to know you are with your family, Mami. Bangalore is a lovely city even with all the changes. I worked briefly at IISC many years ago and have fond memories of my time there.

Good that you are with your family. Though it is sad to leave a city whare you spent so many years, Bangalore also is a great city and you would enjoy living there. Work from home....story of every family all over the world . May be it is new normal. Coronavirus taught us many things and it is one of them.

    Dear Smt. Srinivasan:

My humble pranams to you. Wish you both a wonderful time in the city of Garden with your son, daugher-in-law and grandchildren. I have stayed only for a brief period of time in Bangalore in 1995 before I migrated to the US. With the back to back traffic and hot weather, you will feel at home. The weather used to be colder when it was truly a Garden city but not anymore. Swati is such a host and no wonder she gave a grand welcome to you.

    Dear PS Ma'm,

So glad to hear that you are in the garden city! You know the entrance to Lalbagh has this quote in Kannada " Kai mugidu olage baa, idu sasya kaashi" - It means Bow and enter, this is Mother nature's divine place. Dad would take us to the park and stop and read it every time. Perhaps that and my mother's love for plants is what has nourished me.

Super happy and glad that you are with your son's family! IISc is the area I grew up around and even to this day, makes me happy to go arund that part of the town. I keep hearing about the weather but that is how it was growing up for us aunty. Rains, some flodding clothes not drying for days together! Once it gets sunnier, I assure, you will love it. Glad Swathi has contacted you! I look forward to visiting you on my next trip!

Look forward to hear your take on my home town :)

I am reminded of this couplet by a Pakistani Poet:

    मुझको किस दस्त से लाईं थीं कहाँ छोड़ गईं,
    इन हवाओं से कोई पूछने वाला भी नहीं ।
    तहज़ीब हाफी

(Rough translation- Has carried me from where to where, why someone can question these airwaves)

Born in the city of UP, spent my childhood in my ancestral village in Uttarakhand, Educated at different places, traveled all over India and neighboring countries on work, stayed at many places, and now in the USA. Who knows the next...

    Dear PS
I always envy those who live in Bangaluru. I have lived there for few years in late 60s and it was the best part of my life. But the city has undergone a sea change since then. Barring a couple of landmark parks, it's all concrete jungle now. The avarice of people has killed the city. Having said all this, I continue to love the city dearly. You are blessed to spend your retirement with your kith and kin. All the very best to you:blush:
