Hello Moms, Anyone had taken covid vaccine for kids 5 to 11 please share how did it go? Did they had any symptoms. Thinking to vaccinate my kids this week. I could not check with my Paed as he is on leave this entire week.

    Thanks

    Hello Ramya,
Don't worry. My grandson who is 6 took his vaccine on 10th Nov.
He didn't have any side effects after the shot
He was feeling fine also . When he came to our house, next day ,he didn't complain any thing about the shot .
He felt some soreness on the arm . that's all.
He attended the school on Friday.
    So nothing to worry .
Good luck with your kid's shot.

Thank you very much Deepv for taking time to reply me.
It is reassuring to know that.
As the cases are rising in the schools here its very important to get the covid shot for kids asap.

    Thanks

i have been enquiring same for my kid. I want to wait and see how other kids doing. Many parents i know did not even give flu vaccine and somehow they managed and were safe so far...

I truly believe covid vaccine works ( on adults). I have seen heard so many cases, where they were exposed but were luckily safe or minor symptoms. However, i am scared how kids body will respond to vaccine.

My kid is too young but everyone I know whose kids are eligible have gotten them the shot. I work at a children’s hospital and the lines for the kids vaccine are out the door. Don’t worry about the safety.

Both of my kids ( 9 and 6) received their first shot on Friday. It didn't slow them down. They had a sore arm on Saturday but nothing else.

Yeah i was also thinking the same way and somewhere i read that the formula they give for kids is not same as adults and that it might cause problems in future.. so many cooked up stories in internet.
I have a group of indian moms here and no one ready to vaccinate now. Mine is almost 9 yr old.
Seeing the other moms replies here gives me hope.
