The geezers who are so concerned about women in Afghanistan should probably start with the uteri of Texan women. This isn’t so farfetched from Taliban rule.
That’s exactly right. Anyone can report from anyplace. And the Supreme Court is packed with republican supportive judges. Now many reluctant red states will follow same, unsure how many already have such laws. No one will do termination hereafter there and have to move interstate to do so. Beyond the means for low income groups and it’s so enraging to even hear such news.
It’s indeed a dark day. Instead of being progressive we are pushing women back into the dark ages and make them bear more children even if they don’t want or undergo illegal unsafe abortion methods in desperation. Well to do will have opportunities but others will not and have to be pushed into bringing up children and also to try unsafe abortion methods thereby endangering their lives. Simply unbelievable that in this age we are hearing such laws being passed in a developed country.
Yup. People, well, men don't realize that six weeks of pregnancy often means you may not even know you are pregnant yet. Usually most reliable EPT tests are taken around 8 weeks or later. 7-8 weeks of pregnancy is the earliest reliable indicator for even those tests or for the woman to even realize she is pregnant. Elsewhere, I saw references to the 'Texiban' like Taliban.
So the VA gubernatorial race is supposed to be an indicator of 2022? These people better start playing to win. Youngkin is going to win big today in VA.
Youngkin has won after a slick campaign. Democrats are going to lose big time unless they figure out how to win at messaging.
This is such a joke and making mockery of justice system. What a prejudiced judge and disgraceful comments by him. Kyle Rittenhouse's testimony was Razzie-worthy — but it's likely at least one juror bought it
The prosecution has the burden to prove beyond reasonable doubt. I don’t think they have a strong case. Regardless of the testimony of Rittenhouse, they’ve already dug themselves a deep hole. Jury selection isn’t up to the defense alone. These prosecutors were present for this jury being picked. They knew what was at stake here. They picked these jurors. Let’s not blame an all white jury of being prejudiced. They need to see the evidence beyond reasonable doubt. When I don’t see it, when I see reasonable doubt in whatever they presented to the jury, then it’s the fault of the prosecutors for doing a less than stellar job in the first place. And the judge being unfair or unjust - this happens all the time in closed courtrooms across the county. Haven’t we heard people say how the judge was biased in divorce rulings, unfair in giving a heavier than usual sentence to African Americans, unfair in allowing prosecutorial misconduct? These career prosecutors have seen it all. They should have known to get their facts in order. Now, if by any slim chance the verdict from the jury is guilty, then the judge just did the prosecutors a favor. On appeal, the appeals court will see that the defense got every chance, thereby giving the conviction a better chance of standing.
