Did Anyone Get Flu Shot For Kids?do You Get It Or Wait For Covid Vaccine?

    Hi,
    I am planning to schedule for the flu shot visit for my kid. Did anyone get the flu shot for your kids this year?
    I keep watching the news updates about covid vaccine for kids which is expected to be available soon.
    Do you wait to get the covid vaccine first or get the flu shot? I am yet to ask about this with my kid's doctor. Have to schedule an appointment anyways to meet them.

    On another note, is anyone due for their booster shot? Did you get your flu shot and booster vaccine together?
    Is booster vaccine has to be taken after 8 months of second dose?

    All of us including the toddler got the flu shot last week.
    I am going to get my Covid booster within the next 2 weeks. My colleague got the booster and flu shot on the same day and was out sick for 2 days so I didn’t want to risk that for myself. The booster is recommended but not compulsory.

    Thank you @MalStrom for the response.
    Kid's covid vaccine is expected to roll out soon right? So I was confused if I should wait for COVID vaccine availability.
    I am yet to get my flu shot and the appointment with my PCP is not until December. I am due for booster shot in December. Is it recommended to get the booster 8 months after the second dose?

    Hi,
    I got my flu shot on Wednesday and my physician told if you want you can take booster dose of Covid Vaccine on the same day.
    Booster does has to be taken after 6 months of your second dose.

    Booster is advised 6 months after the initial dose. If you are planning to get the flu shot I would go ahead and do it now. You can get it at any pharmacy/grocery store . Even our pediatrician offers it to other family members but adults have to pay $35 if we get it from them. All other places will take insurance.

    Did you take the booster on the same day?
    I didn't see my physician yet. I am dealing with some health issue and was going to other doctors and specialists.
    My second dose was taken in April. I have to check with doctor about the booster dose.

    I never got the flu shot from any pharmacy before. Will check it out.
    My initial covid dose was taken at the end of March. I have to check if I am eligible for booster shot now.
    For your kids, are you planning to get covid vaccine after few weeks gap of flu shot?

    No, I haven't taken yet. My second dose was completed 6 months on 24th of this month but I don't have any vacation plans soon. So, thinking to shall I take now or wait for 1 or 2 more months. Take Care of your health, Gk.

    I made an appointment for my daughter’s Covid shot on the coming Saturday, and the nurse suggested she get her flu shot at the same time. So that’s what we’re going with. Unless your child has health concerns there is no need to wait between shots. When they were babies they were given as many as 4 shots at the same time. This is no different.

    Is covid vaccine available in your state for kids?
    My son have a health concern and he is on medication everyday. I have to check with his doctor about it.
    I am in GA and am not sure if vaccine available here.
