I purchased these sew-on flower patches on Amazon.

I thought they were iron-on (which I would have sewed to re-enforce anyway)

What is best approach to sew this on a cotton skirt? Should the stitches be invisible. Or can thread be same color so it doesn't matter if they don't show?

    Please give advice.

They look lovely. That combination of peach and tan has eternal appeal.

As the flowers are about the size of a quarter, sewing them in more than one place will be lot of work and could make the pink "petal" threads to pucker or get tangled with your needle's thread. I'd buy a real close match thread of the tan color and sew just the center parts with 2-3 stitches per flower. That might make the flowers look like butterflies perched on the skirt. : ) If the skirt will not be washed often, this'll work.

The amazon description says "You can paste it on your clothes or sew it directly." The pictures do not show the back of the flower. If it is fairly flat, you could try fabric glue.

They are really pretty but to sew each one will take lot of time. I would just buy a slightly less pretty set of flowers that comes with hot-melt adhesive on the back. Like https://www.amazon.com/Clothing-Appliques-Delicate-Embroidered-Decoration/dp/B08L8KLLC8/

A million years ago, I got 2-3 inch wooden flower shapes from Michaels, drew outline on 5 pastel colors satin fabrics, cut them with small scissors and ironed them on with fabric glue. About 30 flowers on a sheer white drape. I worked on it late into the night. I was happy with the result when I hung it up. Early in the morning, the sun shone through the window, and my 30 small 1 cm circles to mark where the flowers should go showed up at the center of each flower. LOL. : )

    Hi

I might purchase those set of flowers too. I am creating border on a skirt (will post another thread at a later time).

Butterflies? That’s interesting because I was wondering how I’d ever incorporate butterfly appliqué to a Jean jacket. You gave me my answer :)

Hope you were able to fix your drape after you poured your ❤️ into decorating it!

Fabric glue? I didn’t know such a thing existed. The things you learn!

I see Gorilla, Elmers, etc. Any brand you recommend?

I’ll likely use fabric glue and then sew. All a labor of ❤️ !

By the way, do I iron to affix the appliqué with fabric glue? Or will the glue dry automatically?

I use fevicryl fabric glue and it sticks well after it dries. No need to iron.

I ended up getting Elmer's Craft glue. Will sew patch on for re-inforcement.
