Sometimes my kid spills food and it goes deep into places where I cannot even put a tooth brush to take it off..do you clean your car interiors professionally?or by yourself?

I will admit a secret here..

When I park my car anywhere..I always take a small peep in the next car and always find it sparkling clean!! Cheesy I know and it makes me envy :D

How do you manage your car looking so clean and perfect all the time!!!

Please give me tips to maintain my car clean all the time and what products you use for your car interiors etc..

    Thanks guys:)

Nice thread. I need a refresher on this myself as I have been slipping.

Here are a few things to consider:
    1. No food policy in the car. No soda, no snacks, no buying in drive through and eating inside the car. ( This single thing will eliminate most of the problems.
    2. Keep wet wipes and mini trash in the car along with liquid spray. The minute something spills, clean it ( much like how we do in the house).
    3. As soon as you get back from shopping, empty the car. It gives a chance to not accumulate junk.

The third one is what I have been slipping lately because I want to quarantine the items and the car gets filled with all kinds of stuff including mail and disposable gloves, mask etc.

But as @chanchitra said, get interior cleaning done to get the car back to smelling and looking nice first. ( Might cost $$, but it will give you the motivation to keep it clean from there on )

With Young kids (until 5yrs old ) It is difficult keeping it clean. Especially cookie crumbs can go everywhere.
Regular vaccuum is the way to go. Some families maintain - NoFood policy. I cannot do that with long roadtrips. We tend to eat.
Except for cookies / crackers and snacks, nothing else gets spilt that bad. Juice / Milk comes with a straw so the chances of spillage is less.

Offlate I have taken it to carwash. If I do exterior wash for $6 , then they let me use their industrial vaccuum myself for free. I do a quick wipe and vacuum myself. Interior cleaning is not too expensive. Comes at $49. Do it once to get it clean and then maintain it.

Maintaining it clean is not practically possible for me (for atleast another couple of years:rolleyes:) with a toddler, so I ve decided to make peace with whatever situation my car is in:D

All our cars have these mats. Very useful with kids. So I dont worry much about accidential spills or food issues. Leather seats also help.

Otherwise, we go exterior car wash, use vaccum available there to clean. Occasionally go for professional interior cleaning. Also, vaccum, clean and wipe the interiors very often. I even use a blower sometimes.

No food policy wont work well, especially during long trips. Kids have certain rules to follow, its their duty to take anything they left it there to trash. They have to keep their waste products inside a bag . Now, I use trashcan that can be attached to the cars floor, that made it easier to clean. When my kids were , toddlers, I made sure they follow the rules by giving clear instructions. Now, its much easier to maintain cleanliness as they know what to do. Always, take wipes and paper towels, trash bags inside the car. I make sure to empty, clean the car after every shopping or long trip.
