    CHOICE OF RELIGION
President Abraham Lincoln said -Democracy is a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Can it be said about religion?
It is a wild imagination, but suppose, humans had a choice of choosing their religion, what would happen? Let us assume that all religious heads agree to this, which is most unlikely, but there is no harm in assuming.
Each religion will have the freedom to issue a manifesto, like political parties do, highlighting its achievements so far and agenda for the future.
First, let us see how the religions stand today in terms of followers. Here are the latest figures:
Religion wise the world population in 2020 was:

    Christianity 32.11%
    Islam 24.90.
    Hinduism 15.16.
    Buddhism 6.62
    Unaffiliated 15.58.
    Others 6.63.

Each religion has a God, the points of conflict is-

Which God is bigger, stronger, and more capable of giving protection and guaranteeing happy life by being Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. But there is more than what meets the eye. Here is the crux of the problem. Each religion is further divided into a different variety of the same religion.

Christianity is divided into three or more- Catholics,

    Protestants and Orthodox and others.

Islam is divided into two Sia and Sunni.

Hinduism is again into three and more Shaivism, Vaishnavism, and Shaktism.

Budhishism into three Hinayana or Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana.

So, where do we go from here?

There can be a system of Central Gods and Regional Gods like National Parties and Regional Parties as in politics.

    The matter is getting complex.

Stay put, where ever you are.

Tou missed atheists whose number is going up by leaps and bounds. Nearly 90% of people in countries like Seden have identified themselves as atheists. And unlike "religious" countries Sweden has an extremely low crime rate. All of us are born as atheists We are brainwashed into religion much later. If people can move from religion to atheism they can move from one religion to another. Of course there are risks. In many Islamic countries you could end up shorter-- by a head.

I am not sure but they can be covered under 'unaffiliated.
That is why I said 'Stay put, wherever you are'.
Right or wrong, my observation is that modern education is converting the present generation into nonbelievers. They call themselves 'Spirituals'. And their arguments are solid. One need not be a person belonging to one or the other religion to behave like a good human being.
