    If I am allowed to nominate, I will second this nomination! It was a great read and I could feel being transported to the house!

    Viswa, maalti, thank you for nominating @1Sandhya's response in Im Feeling Very Depressed And Angry. Please Advice.

    Sandhya divided the OP's dilemma into two parts. The smaller one is tackled by recognizing that men and women think differently. For the bigger one, Sandhya suggested how the OP can gain mental strength before assessing the marriage situation and making major decisions. The distinction between the two parts was neatly presented.

    Viji sweetheart, thank you for nominating the post. And for prompt response with the updated link.

    As we read more about divorce happening in and after the 50s, it's interesting and gives hope to know about people marrying in their 50s and beyond, and how they consider all factors before proceeding. In her response, @DDream also helpfully gave the link to another insightful post on the subject.

    A very useful response by @DDream in https://indusladies.com/community/t...-have-any-opinions.313976/page-3#post-4224335

    Viswa, @nuss thank you for bringing @SGBV's snippet Going Back To Your Ancestors Home to FP. When I read it, my first thought was who will nominate it. : )

    We can never guess what SGBV will be writing about when she posts in Snippets. This time, her vivid narration took us on a tour of her grandparents' home, highlighting the beautiful simplicity of life back then. An excerpt:

    There was a long L shaped varanda in the front and that was kept for the travellers to rest at night.
    ...
    But grandma would usually keep a mud can full of drinking water and a mat outside, and keep her gate wide open. So that, the travellers could take some rest during the night & resume their journey as sun rises.
    The snippet made me nostalgic about my own grandparents houses, recalling little details like the old stone floor and shelves built into the walls.

    Thank you, Thyagu. The way you wrote the nomination, your joy is fairly palpable. : ) The nominated post is this response by @Gauri03 in Gabfest: And Thereby Hangs A Tail

    The nicest things in life can sometimes come from the most unexpected places. Thank you to @indubalram, who noticed a profile post and asked for elaboration. Thanks to the alignment of the sun and the stars on Tuesday that Gauri responded like she did, taking a break from her usual shorter post length. I have to echo what @Kohvachn said there, "I'm super glad today brevity isn't your thing." Every sentence in the response is worth reading multiple times.

    The response deserves to be in a thread by itself, maybe a sticky, rather than tucked away in the Gabfest thread.

    Gauri has provided examples of how we go against our preferences in both big and small ways, the consequences of this in the long run, and how we can change this. The simple changes to our thought process suggested there can be applied to issues posted in almost any section of IL.

    @Rihana,

    I second the nomination of @Thyagarajan Sir's nomination of @Gauri03's Gabfest: And Thereby Hangs A Tail. In my view, care for others doesn't come without having the ability to care for self. Often, we get confused between seflishness and self-care. When I pay attention only to me with the exclusion of others, it becomes selfishness whereas when I pay attention to the self-confidence, self-satisfaction and self-respect, it becomes self-care. Jesus, Others and You constitute "JOY' is the saying but that order is constituted by the well-being of You. Without taking care of You, You can't develop Christ-like qualities and be of service to others. You need self-confidence, self-satisfaction and self-respect first.
