    This gender inequality and power play is the crux of every problem here in this forum. Even the husbands with working wives also are so dumb to not understand they have a earning wife who plays both roles without blinking! It will take couple more generations to bring the shivers up the weak spine of men and in-laws before they mess with the lady of the house. We are slowly getting there but little too slow…

    Well your imagination is not so accurate..and I’m unable to share specific details as this is an online forum..but unfortunately people change with time and circumstance..their mind still can be poisoned against person whom they know so well..

    @Needtobestrong - for your peace of mind and strength of marriage, you could chant the swayamvara mantram multiple times a day. Lighting a lamp first thing in the morning and chanting this four line mantram a few times(11, 108, 1008 times) is supposed to be good for a peaceful family life. Chitra has sung it well here.

    Any update in this?

    Our family don’t believe in nazar, but I believe there is a scientific basis to people with bad “vibes”.

    For instance don’t tell ppl too much info, else you’ll jinx yourself. My relative announced on FB he arrived in USA (due to clinical rotations). At the end he didn’t get into few clinical rotations.

    What have you tried?
    Is there any improvements?

    I too do not reveal too much info to anyone.
    Only sticking to general discussions.
    My MIL isn’t the kind of person who can’t keep anything to herself and will announce to everyone..relatives friends etc.. Half the time it doesn’t materialise at all. So I’m opting to be a private person.
    My friends too share good news after its confirmed only.
    My friend recently delivered a baby , she announced her pregnancy after 5 months only.
    One more friend joined a new job and shared the news after joining and completing 3 months in the company.

    But there are few who like investigative journalists would try to prod and collect the information that they want . Like in surveys the questions will be asked in an order such that the person answering wouldn’t know the purpose behind all those questions.

    Question no 1 relates.no. 5 q.2 would relate to a.10. But while answering questions in the sequential order the person answering many not know that he or she is disclosing more.

    It is better to ask these guys howsoever senior to put all questions together and then plan your answer. On Online matrimonial chat one got to factor in this type of questioning.
    The nazar is mostly confined to Indian & Srilanka latitudes and longitudes and few Asian nations.
    Few DECADES ago I REMEMBER TO HAVE READ THAT there was a tv show in which a man could bend the metal spoon only by looking at it. It was reported the show was live in tv channel in NY.
