    Hi there

I need to shed some weight and would like to maintain an ideal weight to stay healthy.
I have started to reduce my portions.

I walk daily around the house at normal pace (not brisk walking) for about 45 mins to 1 hour. I also walk at normal pace for 15 mins after my breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would this walking at normal pace help to cut down the extra pounds? The main purpose of walking 15 mins after the 3 main meals is to reach almost 10k steps daily and also I remember reading it helps to regulate the sugar and blood pressure level.

Or am I over doing it? Is it necessary to walk after each meal? Would over doing hinder my body from losing weight?

    Please advice.
    Thanks

Walk as much as your legs can handle. Over-doing does not hinder from losing weight.

Walking melts pounds. I gotta charge my pedometer and start walking again (I stopped after COVID, LOL)

    Hi.
Diet alone may take longer. I'm not a very active person. So I hope by taking few extra steps could be beneficial for my overall health.

You are not overdoing the walking. Infact walking for 10mints after every meal is beneficial as body wont allow fat accumlation.

I also need to reduce a lot of weight, around 8to 10kg. Please could you advise how do you bring out the 10000 steps daily. I am also not a very active person and the determination and will power is not strong enough to continue anything beyond 2 days.

How do you split the steps, like morning or evening you take the 45 mint walk? Do you listen to music while walking. Please reply.

    While walking
    - Eat with fork (may not register steps, but at least you are burning fat)
    - Listen to music

I used to walk a lot a couple of months ago but did not feel any difference. So I have no motivation to do it again

    Hi paru123,

Everyday after breakfast I walk for 15 mins, then again for 15 mins after my lunch and also 15 mins after dinner. In the evening around 5 to 6pm I walk for about 45min to 1 hour in one go.

On average we walk about 100 steps in a minute.
So say for 15 mins about 1500 steps.
You can try to figure out from there.

I just walk around the house, the TV will be switched on most of the time. Keep reminding yourself you are doing it to stay healthy, taking precaution or preventing yourself from unnecessary illness. Please do not think it as a chore. At the same time, try eating healthy. All the best!
