Viswa, er ahem ... this was one of your easier ones. That fellow in the funny hat gave it away right away. I did see your tag but neglected to respond - busy, traveling, etc., etc. Excuses, excuses.
I was debating whether to include that image or not but decided to include. I am glad you found time to solve it despite your travel and busy schedule.
I didn't know this thread was still active. Happened to notice it just now. Good collage for the puzzle Vishwa. I enjoyed solving it.
Thank you @Gauri03, @sokanasanah and @1Sandhya for solving my puzzle. If no one else is trying, I will post the answer before the end of this week.
Answer to Puzzle #8597 (July 4th) The Key words are "Operation" and "Overlord" and the answer is "Operation Overlord" Here are the description of each image: It is about the Battle of Normandy, the Allied operation that launched the successful invasion of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II code named "Operation Overlord". It was launched on June 6, 1944 which is also called D-Day. This is what @Gauri03 referred in her response that I was thinking about another day on I-Day meaning I thought about D-Day. Image 1: Operation Image 6: Overlord Image 4: General Bernard Montgomery was named as a commander The Americans assigned to land at sectors code named "Utah" and "Omaha". Image 3: Utah Image 8: Omaha Image 5: 21st Army Group (commanded by General Bernard Montgomery) formation image Image 7: Actress "June" to indicate that the D-Day happened in June. Image 2: I have forgotten why I have selected this image. All of this clues are taken from Operation Overlord - Wikipedia
I understood the second image as alphabets which represented the 17 sectors on the Normandy coastline that were named using the spelling alphabet as per Wikipedia.
I can't make head and tail of it. These images all pertain to happenings in USA perhaps which am not keeping with. I need more elucidation yo solve this type of your puzzle. Regards.
Yes. You are correct. You recalled my memory. Normally, I write down why I selected a particular image. As I was doing after a long break, I missed making notes.
