Watched The terminal movie on Netflix. Although it’s an old one it’s one of the best I have watched in recent times…

Sherni was my recent watch. Since we(husband n me) like taking the jungle tours and spotting the wildlife we thoroughly enjoyed this movie which hinted a social message at the end.. Good watch and it made us realise it's been 2years since we took our national park visit. Missing it. Hopefully one soon!

Watched kamali from nadukaveri. Beautiful movie. Its always heart-warming to see people from humble beginnings making it big in life with hardwork. The movie is about a village girl making her way in to IIT. The reason why she chased IIT slightly irked me. I am sure many would have felt the same. But it made sense in the end. Like this many small scenes were kept in the first half which added to the relevance of the second half. Like how kamali used the glass sun concept to fire the crackers. This was shown just so we don't feel how a girl who wasn't very keen in studies suddenly crack the IIT entrance with good ranks in such a little coaching time. And when she wins a grand quiz in the end it doesn't seem far fetched if we connect it to a scene in the first half where she would whine to her dad about how her education is only useful for reading to him the daily newspaper. I liked the ending very much. Her change of mind was so touching. When she realises how she is being celebrated in her village she also understands that she should be more responsible else so many youngster's confidence would be shattered with her one mistake. Beautiful beautiful movie which should be watched with kids

I started to watch Sherni last week. Gave up after the first 20 minutes. It felt like a zoology lesson and a bad one at that.. like the teacher hastily recorded a lesson when teaching went online at short notice. : )

With an offbeat yet interesting topic and a cast that included Vidya Balan, Mukul Chadda, Vijay Raaz and Neeraj Kabi, one expected better from Amit Masurkar, the director of Newton.

    Trivia:
    - Masurkar wrote the story, screenplay and directed Newton. For Sherni, he only did the direction.
    - Dropped out of an engineering course at Manipal Inst. of Technology. Later completed a BA in History from elsewhere.
    - He is only 40 years old... hopefully will give us more movies like Newton.

Added later: Read Anusha's review after posting this.

:) we started to watch the movie last week and the lil one was very cranky that night. So we left it after the same 20 mins.. I hadn't gotten time after that.

Then I get a message in one WA group - Sherni must watch n then I remembered "ahh I have a movie to catch up". So Friday after I left the lil one with mom n came home to finish my studies I thought it's Friday and I have the weekend to catch up with my studies and finished the movie.. Now the best part is the movie turned into a story for my lil one. since I have to blabber something to my baby to keep her entertained(some song or lion in the jungle story most of the times)Saturday blabbering was about the tigress in the movie and how she died. Mazha aaya to tell the story to my lil one and my mom thought I'm "making up " Some story. Ha ha. I said no no it's a movie and told her wait I'll put that for u in prime and made my parents watch. They were probably bored and didn't watch beyond a certain point:neutral: .

Thanks for this. I wanted to go back n check who was the director of the movie because somewhere I was getting "Newton" Movie vibes , the innocent villagers part especially.

I watched it based on your recommendation and It was a very good movie. Her reason for entering into IIT looks silly but it turned her life. I really liked to watch support of professor, her family, friend, villagers and she wouldn't had there in that position without them. Climax was also nice and a worth watch movie.

Yes positive ppl throughout. Even her room mate will apologise for her deeds. I loved the characterisation of kamalis school friend. These many people wising only good for someone is far from reality. But it's good to watch at least in a movie. Somehow a simple movie touched me so much. Wondering why.

Jagame thandhiram hayyo. What have they done to the movie. Dhanush why oh why. Worst movie. I wish the eezham ppl take copyright of their issues. Fed up of them being shown in a funny light or poor light. These movie makers now are hell bent on taking up farming, caste issues in every movie. Now srilankan tamizh issue is added to the list. Agreed these issues need to be addressed. But why can't they make it in a better way. Too much drama with very less or no real portrayal. Had it been released in theatres it wouldn't have run even for a day. Waste of my precious time. This karthik Subbaraj guy should stop making movies for sometime. His stock is over. Except his pizza and petta to some extent every movie of is horrible. I didnt like Iraivi too but liked the portrayal of a man who is torn between morality and loyalty. At least that movie can be interpreted in different ways and gave some work for our brain in deciphering the metaphors but cannot forgive the perverted mindset which went in to the making. All other movies are plain waste. I feel OTT platforms too should have some restriction as to what movies they show. Even dhanush couldn't save the movie. I should blame myself for watching yet another KS creation.

I wasn't a big fan of the actors in this movie, but I liked the plot and how it came to be that a girl that he was idolizing became his wife and then he proved to her that the outside is not how to judge a person. That was a cool thought that they brought out.
