Sometimes I notice the interconnectedness of the list of new threads created on the forum. And now and then, it would seem like each of the new creators should be recommended the other opening posts. Interpreting dreams, and creating textiles are good rejuvenating breaks in the readings.
    @Rajapriyaa and @shama146 ought to read & comment on @Thyagarajan 's lockdown-love idea.

Men are simpler beings. Can't do complex thoughts and expressions on seeing a mostly unexposed someone in an image.

UK Tabloids promise images on Page-3 to get the locals buy them. Most newsagents in big cities are desi's, and most buyers are of the ilk that could never get within 10 meters of the real person in the page-3 image, even in their dreams. [google "page-3 UK tabloid images", and you may see what I mean]

Newspapers have been suffering loss of subscribers in all countries, even with page-3 items.... as the unkempt men in their lonesome have taken to the world wide web. To watch unmentionables on video. Even Bin-Laden was not subscribing to The Daily Jihadi; when he was shot dead, he was in the middle of rewatcing some of the old tapes he had. Albeit, 3 resident wives of varying ages.

The thread "Does Infidelity Runs In Family? Asking For A Friend" by @Vedhavalli is quite thought provoking.

Pics: Karnataka new CM HD Kumaraswamy’s wife Radhika is new Google sensation
    upload_2021-6-7_12-17-25.png
Apparently many south indian politicians have two wives, although the 2nd wife does not have a legal standing as a spouse, but adequate level of social acceptance. In Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy's case as well, this would be true. First wife Anita would have all the legal rights of spouse to properties, while the second wife Radhika is fortunately quite wealthy on her own. Krishnaswamy is obviously a lot older; in fact, he married Anita in the same year Radhika was born. Kumaraswamy and Radhika have a 20 year difference in age; interestingly enough, his father DevGowda (one time PM of India) also married his mother with about the same difference in age. Just a coincidence, I am sure..

Data from the most recent Census has shown that India has more married women than married men. Even after correcting for non-resident married emigre-men, the data points to the statistically significant excess of married (Hindu) women than men.

The forum thread linked above wondered whether the trait of marrying a second time would run in the family (hereditary), and therefore should one avoid marriage alliances with such a family. The Karnataka CM's father had been married only once.

That is a comment on how to get the benefit of others' miseries:
If someone imagines everything going bad for them in their life, all they have to do is to come to IL forums and read a few other cases where the subjects are much worse off than themselves.
The mere knowledge of how things-could-be-a-lot-worse would take them from not-too-good to not-too-bad.

    Dear @Hopikrishnan ref#434
When handling documents for custom clearance pertains to consignments by sea, air & postal, One is scared of delay in clearance of goods from port or post office not cleared within free period. Many times original documents delivery order not obtainable for numerous reasons but cargo arrival notice received by the port consignee.

When one huge consignment on demurrage in thousands per day, I used to be a worried lot. But the notional relief I get, when another consignment arrives several times huge than the previous one and I have no originals the demurrage would be running in tens of thousands. My focus, gets immediately shifted to the second one involving me moving, heaven & earth.

As in predicament with second one, telex intimation would be received about catastrophe in mid sea & ship jettisoned my cargo and within few hours I must file my claim under General average in London office.

First few weeks, I was learning ropes felt always under some duress! But second third weeks onwards, I found that is the normal situation always in shipping. But then for several years, I sailed in the sea office! One burden distance the other but all stands solved with patience & alacrity. (unusual combination!)

@Rihana the new "staff member" badge. just noticed it while reading your reply in Giri's thread...

And your atomic habits book suggestion..:smile: I just finished the book.. And when you mentioned you read, re read then I was like wow. " Why not" .

Few days back I was looking for some motivational books to read n google suggested that. And I did a search of that book in this forum. Your suggestion popped up (in some other thread). Then I wanted to buy the Kindle version. Then opened the apartment book group(I used to be an inactive member there) to share a forward about books and saw discussion on that book. Same day borrowed the book from the person who said he's ready to lend the book to anyone who wants to read.
Then the 75 hard challenge made to finish the book.
Don't know why I'm sharing this but then when you want something the universe manifests itself to give us what we want. (I'm not able to recollect the exact same words from "the secret" Book) .

    Yeah great suggestion there.

What a thread that has turned out to be! Was thinking about your post in the weekend.

So true.. sister, friend, mother (even husband at times) cannot be relied upon for ttc support. They will want to help and mean to help but they perhaps don't know how to. They can't bear to see you unhappy, so will point out the other positives or suggest ways to feel "better" or more "hopeful". I sometimes felt they instinctively focus on their own pain of seeing a loved one struggle.. rather than the loved one's pain. : ) If you get what I mean.. : )

That is a book I fell in love with. To quote John Green:
I Fell In Love the Way You Fall Asleep: Slowly, and Then All At Once"

Not sure what exactly clicked. Maybe the right advice found at the right time.

The second time reading, it was an audio book read by the author himself. When he describes his high school injury, I was like aiyyoo..

More, will opine in the procrastination thread itself.

    Likelihood of a refund? Zero.
If an Amazon wore Victoria's Secret, no amount of Apples can spur hanky-panky. Customer would need to buy that something else.

I skimmed through this thread recently. I watched some of the videos here as well as on the news. I was horrified by the coverage. It seemed terribly intrusive and insensitive. Reporters and YouTubers were sticking mics in the faces of recently bereaved people with zero consideration.

We experienced loss of life in the US as well, but the news handled it very differently. There were long shots of mortuary vans and burial grounds. People were allowed to grieve in private. Bereaved families spoke on camera only when they volunteered to do so.

This exploitation of raw grief in India was shocking and abhorrent to me. Are people not entitled to privacy? Could the tragedy not be conveyed with discretion? Why the lack of humanity?

The coverage seems wrong on so many levels. I feel outraged that random YouTubers thought it's okay to exploit human grief for virtual likes and subscriptions.
