I wonder if it isn’t the nature of the challenge itself that provokes introspection. I find myself becoming more deliberate with my choices every day. Maybe having to make tough choices throughout the day in order to get through the tasks and being conscious of the passing of time is making us more mindful of how we spend our days.

Interesting how each one of us is discovering the wrinkles in our routines, and finding ways to iron them out. Now that I am trying IF I’ve discovered a practical problem — I cook in the evenings. So even though I am hungry at 6pm, I have to wait an hour or more for dinner to get done. That leads to snacking or too much coffee which in turn affects bedtime. Many times I don’t have the energy to cook after a long day and we end up getting takeout. If I can get cooking out of the way in the AM it will make my life so much easier. My goal for this week is to figure out how to accomplish that.

    You go girl!!

Echo this. Feel this is something deeper than the specific goal itself.

I still have to work on getting one workout done in the morning. Last two days went out the morning, but today woke up late had to miss my zoom zumba session , and it is a hectic work day. Must make the most of this evening. I must practice going to bed early. Tomorrow is another day.

I thought through my goals and here they are:
    1. Take a progress photo
    2. Create calorie deficit <1400 cal
    3. Follow IF (min 14h fasting)
    4. Facial skin care (~10 mins)
    5. 2 workout sessions - 15 min and 45 min
Today is my first day. I found it hard to get started since there was something or the other coming up each day. I read each of your updates and it is very motivational - not just what you have managed to accomplish each day but also the hard days how each of you manage to overcome
@Srama I am starting IF. In terms of daily goals, I am starting slow with IF, workout duration, calories etc and hoping to gradually improvise.
Thanks @Gauri03 for sharing your meal plan! My problem too with low carb diet is mainly the fruit intake. I eat quite a lot of fruits. Apple is my comfort fruit and many days I eat 2 a day. It gets challenging to follow low carb diet with this. I am still going to be very mindful of carbs just that for now I am not setting a target yet.

Ladies here - has anyone managed to achieve flat tummy? If so, what were the things that contributed towards achieving this goal - in terms of any specific diet or workout? I have a big tummy. It somewhat reduced compared to what I had last year (after my second delivery) but I still have a lot to lose. This has been bothering me a lot. Except for my tummy, I have a proportionate figure and will look way better if I lose it. I am finding it very hard to reduce tummy since it is not a recent development. Though pregnancy was a major contributing factor, I had some tummy even before that. So it is the persistent stubborn tummy that I have to lose. DH has been suggesting to have a personal trainer but I am not sure if I am ready yet. Any suggestions?

    Dear Gauri,

I used to cook in the evenings too. Lunch next day was left overs from the previous day - infact I enjoyed cooking in the evenings. Then the pandemic hit -
Suddenly all of us were home for a few months, routine changed and then all of us were back to school routine, except DH who was working from home. Left over lunch din't help. So switched to cooking in the morning before heading out and that actually led me to IF! Can you believe that?

I have always been somewhat of a 'me time' person. Even when my kids were young, I would actually make sure that I bathe, eat and take care of myself before my day started with them and I was teased to no end about it. I couldnot get myself into a frenzy if I wanted to be there for family. I believe I inherit that trait from my grandmother :)

Even now, I inherently get it that most of my day is dictated by others, my responsibilities towards others, job and whatnot and that pressure will carry me thorugh the day very well. When it comes to self care, I feel we have no such push - not that I am the healthiest, skinniest whatever person but when I delingently devote a couple of hours for my 'me time' and what ever that includes, I end up having a better day feeling centered. I do get off track and quite often but I remind myself that 'it is off the wagon, back on the wagon' and restart - for personal care :) and there is nothing like "I have a handle on this" - nope all we can do is try.....there will be challenges.
