Bharat Biotech seems to have shot themselves in the foot about their own vaccine...
The phase III data is now delayed until July 2021. Only after that, and its peer review, Covaxin might get WHO approval, and those who got a certified shot will be able to travel into certain foreign countries.

In India we think there is Vaccine hesitancy. Muslims think it is Modi's way of sterilizing all of them. The Aasha foundation volunteers are not organizing vaccinations in two queues, one muslim followed by one non-muslim from the same vial of the vaccine. In America we have it really bad. The top guy is now becoming infamous for having lied all along with various advisories.

What I heard from my parents was in the beginning when there was enough supply of vaccine, people weren't willing to take and so much was wasted. Especially, in villages volunteers faced bad experiences.
Now, everyone wants and runs to get vaccine but the supply is less. Even some of them have been waiting to take second dose of vaccine from 2 months.

 

True. My parents in Chennai were telling they were constantly getting messages about vaccines in different locations.

My post was about how in relatively free societies, with such a lot of talking heads on TV and youtube, Vaccine hesitancy can get twerked up from all corners. Even the socialist, leftwing.

And now that the rightwing nut Baba Ramdev is going to get his Covid Vaccine shot, that event would be even more valuable in overcoming India's vaccine hesitancy.

The Dr. Fauci advisories on masks, opening the economy, NIH funding for ecohealth alliance that got into Wuhan Lab, gain-of-function research, and congressional hearings etc. etc.. would all provide the grist for cable TV and comedians for a good long time. There would be enough blame to go around, in the "if only yada-yada had/hadn't happened..." narratives. Eventually nobody would be accountable.
