The Neti pot gives me some relief. None of the Ayurveda or homeo meds worked. My trigger is my hormones so unfortunately, I couldn’t avoid it. I used to suffer for two days before finally taking an ibuprofen. Now a days, I take it at the first sign of pain. It isn’t more than 1/2 a month and I got tired of waiting it out. Both my kids have it too. I do give them Tylenol or Motrin too. It’s rare for my DS but unfortunately my DD’s seem to be like mine.

Laks, I feel you, mine is a combination of hormonal and also weather changes and certain foods. I count the days, i did not have it and dread it. yes i have to take ibuprofen since tylenol no longer works for me. i do not want to take them, but end up taking else i cannot do anything. It is sad that kids inherit it too, i got it from my mom and my elder one is having it too like me. But for her it looks like dehydration and weather mostly, want her to come out of it with enough sleep and staying hydrated, hope she wont get it like me.

Not exactly, Including yoga in your routine could help eventually, as it involves multi level breathing practices.

Try this video. I love yoga with Adriene but haven’t tried this one. I’ll also try to add this to my practice.

    @vidukarth

Ache or pain due to migraines - Tylenol is no good as it can cause one or of nine kinds of side effects that includes poor appetite, yellowing of eyes as in jaundice.

My mother suffered for many decades with severe migraines that was coinciding with her monthly course. She even once asked by an auyrvedh to apply paste of green chilli over her head to soak for 30 minutes to one hour and wash head with tepid water. But she tried in vain and I suffered as I applied chilli paste over my beloved mom.

She got freedom from her migraine only after attaing the menopause state. After that till her breathing last at robust age 84, she never had any kind of headache.

My Sambandhi amma too is suffering often in a month with this migraine associated not only with her mc but other times too. She would not be in a position to take solid or liquid food undergo severe nausea or undertake any task . She would simply lie down for hours on end. She tried numerous remedies that includes yoga meditation. Even today, I heard she is lying down on her cot in featal posture. When she is lying down, rest of members of family all have anxious time.

Though there are 52 varieties of headache identified in medical science, it appears no cure could be found for migraine type splitting head aches. The triggers are far too many. Too much of anything affects them. It could be emotional in tv soaps, in real life, heated arguments and altercations, too hot and too oily foods et al. Many manage themselves and their family only by sheer will power!

I described benefits (!) derived of of my late mother’s migraine in link

    3m – Me, Mom & Milk

I wish OP discover soon herself the remedy for this migraine malady by trial and error. What suits one may not suit another but then it is also said one (wo)man’s poison may be another (wo)man’s nectar.
    Regards.

You say headache increases when you lie down, makes me relate to it as I used to suffer from sinus. Deep breathing few times daily and smelling eucalyptus oil helped me.

yes, my mom suffered enough due to headache taking saridon which damaged her kidney and had to remove one.
This is what scares me and i want to avoid alternate ways and stop taking medication

I feel bad for your mom and especially in those days, the amount of work they do is tremendous. I wish i will get rid of it like your mom permanently one day.

Hope your sambandhi maami feels better too.

I can hear my mom saying "Mandai idi maavilaku podarathu" when you say splitting headache.

Thanks for linking this thread, i read it, that was a nice narration.

Thanks radv, yes i do smell it, once it starts, it takes almost 12 hours for me to get rid of it. I think mine is a combination of sinus and stress leading to migraine headache.
