    Hi Ladies,

I knew covid is impacting a lot in india. But apart from news, and other forward messages, i am getting new kind of torture from my husband about Covid safety....he is repeating daily almost every 2-3 hours about covid safety & reactions, every item from outside world is suspicious, every action of me is dangerous so on...its getting worse from this month onwards.

i am IT employee & will not go anywhere throughout the week except for emergency needs. We can order vegetables, groceries at higher price for 1/2 months, but can not for 2 years right...so weekly once i used to buy all vegies & groceries, fruits for that week...that too during odd times with lot of precautions, safety measures.

but still he is torturing me by repeating & saying lot lot examples... I told him that to take that weekly responsibility. he say OK, but will not wake up early morning to bring vegies. In our state only 6-10AM is permitted. but he used to woke up at 9.30...

    Hi Reesha,
We are also in similar situation, shop available only from 6 to 10 am.
But actually it is me who insist my husband to get the groceries online but not from store. We avoid going out as much as possible.
I will tell my perspective but I am not insisting that u r wrong and I am right.
My husband colleagues were laughing at us for following careful measures like getting grocery online, not eating outside food for more than a year, leaving plastic covers or cardboard box outside, washing plastic essentials with dettol before bringing into home, washing groceries with bio anti septic solution before stocking. We ask even delivery boys to leave our package at door through windows.

Ofcourse we went out for my toddlers vaccination/to playground when cases were low, I.e. whenever it is necessary and situation was better.

Most of my husband colleagues dint do any of this but now most of them got infected in recent times. Few of their relatives in some families passed away. April last week, in my husband office call,i heard one of his teammates was talking well, 2 days later he was showing mild symptoms, his score was low, suddenly one morning he passes away. He was 35yrs old. We couldnt believe it at all. My husband couldnt sleep. Some say it is not exactly because of covid but because his body shut down with the impact though he was testing negative. We are still not sure how and why this happened.

Am not telling this to freak u or anyone or passing any judgements, but to keep an eye out of our precautions, atleast till the cases are low. Some say to use even double mask.
According to me, prevention is way better than cure. Instead of feeling sorry, we can probably spend little extra money to safe guard ourselves. If we survive this, we can see better tomo.
You can ofcourse go out for things that u couldnt get online and if it's really necessary.

Your husband should not be lecturing you.
But until this wave subsides it is prudent to do as much as possible online: buying milk, grocery, vegetables, medicine etc. It will be well worth the extra expense to stay safe.

Sudden shock can do this. Keep a pulse oximeter at home: Amazon.in: oximeter
added later (b'cos still in Edit time):
"Looking out" can be done in a humane way. OP's anguish about getting harangued at home is very real. Covid lockdown has made even the nominally talkative persons a pain in the butt for the household. Since the woman in the house is doing most of the work, men have to learn to shut up and be thankful. No need to go full Ramakrishna on the wife, but if a man needs to talk talk talk, they ought to shut themselves up in a room and yell at the walls.

This has been the case with us ever since covid started. Till now we have been shopping only online. Even though now we are partially vaccinated, Even though in Us they are relaxing things, we are still not loosening up. Still we need to know if the vaccine is really efficient. Seeing all the variants it is better to be safe than sorry. we will continue to be this way until the year end.

At times we (me and my son) have become mad with the level of precaution my husband takes even with bringing in the groceries we bought online, it is hard!! but now we are also thankful, if not for his extreme caution we might have not understood the gravity of this issue. People do not understand the severity until it hits our inner circle.

Don't put a number limit on the years on how you can remain like this. If covid is not subsiding we need to follow this until it has dropped. Its about survival!

You please continue to buy your groceries online, especially in India situation is not good. It is worse than last year. you can save money later. health and safety should be your priority! if you can prevent from going outside you should! Your husband is only looking out for the safety of you and his family!!
    Stay safe.

Looks like he is in a panic mode, tell him you're more cautious than him(assuming you're)
Relax, the situation is tough on everyone of us,we'll have to survive.

It's good you're getting groceries from nearby stores while majority of us gets online. I would suggest you to opt for home delivery,it's better to restrict going out as much as possible.just my 2 cents.

Hello dear, I can understand how irritating this can be..but second wave is very deadly, pls do not step out of the home for routine essentials like groceries, fruits, vegetables and medicines..
Pls order them online using apps or call the vendor and ask them to delivery groceries, fruits, veggies , medicines, etc with no contact delivery option...
There is nothing which can’t be ordered nouns these days..
I know of people who stayed at home and still got infected with Covid..either they were careless with sanitisation of parcels bought form outside or had stepped out to stores and supermarkets to buy essentials and unfortunately came in contact with Covid positive person there..also now Covid is proven to be airborne too..so why do you take risk?
    The statistics are terrifying.
In my household too, initially we weren’t happy with the quality and prices of fruit snacks and vegetables bought online..but due to safety reasons we are compromising ..we have slowly figured out which online portals deceivers good quality stuff..and which vendors provide fresh stock etc and when best offers are available..and we are planning purchases accordingly..
Also, previously before Covid I used to buy medicines in person from the pharmacy..but nowadays I have more requirement for medicines as I consume supplements and immunity boosters and I need prescription meds for my health issues..
I find it safer to order online, I select the medicines and upload my prescription and place the order with no contact delivery option..it’s that simple..and I also get 15 to 20 percent discount when I buy online, and free delivery. In pharmacies they always charge MRP..so it’s a financial gain for me.
Sanitisation of parcels and ordered items is important as you don’t know the health condition of the person who packed and handled the items..pls keep a sanitizer spray and use it..
This is the new normal,.pls adjust..when your husband’s keeps repeating Covid safety related stuff, just reassure saying that you know and following all this.
