    What would you do about:

Friends or close friends who decide or choose not to take the Covid vaccine though appointments are now available easily for all over 16.

Persuading them to take the vaccine is not something to do as they have taken all factors into account and taken their decision.

My question is: does anything change in our interactions or relationship with them?

Two of my friends in particular expect that once I am fully vaccinated (May end), we will start to meet in person like old times. I am outwardly respectful of their choice to not take the vaccine, but don't feel like meeting in person. Something about providing the herd immunity or whatever that will indirectly protect them is annoying.

I was mostly not bothered till one of them gave her reason for not taking the vaccine: "Oh I am a little wary about what I inject into my body." As though I am less cautious about it.

I am so tired of this whole saga. I wish everyone who is eligible would hurry up and just take the vaccine once it is easily available.

As a scientist I have lost patience with people like this. I have no interest in socializing with the deliberately obtuse and scientifically illiterate. I would downgrade them to acquaintance status and have no problem explaining why.

A recent (mid March 2021) article from Reuters shows that vaccine reluctance can come from all corners.

Former friends who had declared "Oh..I am wary about what I inject into my body" can never come back with a sticker on their jacket that says "I am vaccinated". Who'd believe them ?

I too have a lady posted in one of the chat groups here that she is starting a kitty group and vaccinated ladies can join. That sounded ridiculous...but cannot help it. That has become a trend now. We have to live with it or just learn to ignore such mob.

I have seen people who say they want their natural body to develop the virus to fight the coronavirus....
Some are scared to take the vaccination and the side effects....
I have done my responsibility by taking my vaccination

I have a question . Since the indoor sports events are opening up will you be willing to sign up under 16 kid for a indoor tournament with a expected number of kids close to 500 . I'm worried about using restroom and other common area the kids needs to access . Since it is a one day tournament I don't know how diligent the organizers will be willing to cleanup . It is non-contact sports but still with kids traveling from different parts of country I'm not sure how they are going to conduct it. Due to practical difficulties the covid test cannot be mandated.

In our family all eligible candidates have decided to get vaccine . My sister is a doctor so she got it way early. According to my research it is better for our family to get vaccine. Our main concern is we don't have family to take care of us. Me and my husband are the only adults and we have zero family here. So in our case it makes more sense to get the vaccine. If someone can afford to get sick and develop immunity then good for them . I think world is going to be mix of vaccine and non-vaccine people. There are so many anti-vax groups which lobby against vaccines. Do you own research. Check with your physicians and make a decisions. I never took flu vaccine since I know for my age I will survive the illness but covid is different case all together. One thing I wish we could do is to check if our bodies did develop anti-bodies . I want to know if vaccine did do the work . Hopefully as they evolve we can get that too. But have to give to scientists for finding a mRNA vaccine with in a year.

dont know where to post this...

Since yesterday morning, I started feeling burnt sensation on my tongue right when eating a cold breakfast containing dates/walnuts. I have never been allergic to them before. Till now the sensation of tongue having been burnt (the way it feels after we drunk excessively hot soup). And I have a mouth ulcer today as well.Should I go for Covid test?

I did wake up with sore throat and blocked nose yesterday morning but that lasted hardly 1 hour. I have sinus issues, so this is something that happens to me on a very very regular basis, so I didn't think that was a reason to panic, but the burnt tongue sensation is making me nervous.

We have not been in contact with anyone. Me and DH have been inside the house for a month now , no maids at this time , shopping groceries online.
The flat directly above us, a lady is home-quarantining due to being Covid positive . She or her husband are in the balconies above ours, almost all day long, talking on phone. Could that be a source of infection? Or am I panicking unnecessarily.

I would advise you to measure temperature, every couple of hours, and write down in a notebook, alongwith a descriptive line on "how you feel". This is helpful to take to doctor, if your symptoms worsen. This burnt-tonge feel -- when did it start, how long has it been going on -- is an important clinical data. When burnt tongue happens, we are usually not able to taste other things. How is your sense of smell (crushed cardamom in palm to nose distance is a way to test ) ?
