The covid situation in India alarms the world. Indian mutant B1617 has reached the western world. Considering the huge population of India, it is feared the situation may go from bad to worse.

Some countries have started supplying medicines and all sorts of help to India. It is good. We should be thankful to them. But we must also understand that they are doing it to protect themselves also. Pandemic spares no one. Many countries has restricted travel to and from India.

Articles are advising what to do and what not to do. Some are very critical of how the situation was handled in a very callous manner. One of them was too early a joyous moment declaring India has won over Covid.

India is the world supplier of vaccines to the world and today it is begging for the Covid vaccine.

India could have done something to scale down the Kumbh Fest but the PM was more concerned about his popularity among the Hindu sentiments.

India could have postponed the elections or at least cut down on the electioneering but it did not.

Indians consider themselves highly immuned to such viruses and are not following the Covid protocol.

There are many things people will say.

One thing that disturbs me the most is the black marketing of medicines, oxygen, and overcharging by ambulances and others.

One thing that irks is the nonavailability of beds in hospitals and the rumors that VIPs are getting preference over others.

    The list is too long.

One thing is, however, certain. Humans have limitations and even the best of administrators can fail in the situation. There is no harm in accepting the lapses and assuring that needful is being done. Humility and being humble raises the stature of a person.

One thing that I am not in a position to understand is why the PM's photo is on the Vaccination Certificates?

Would he be courageous enough to put the same photo on the death certificates issued for the unfortunates who died of Covid.

I think each one of us has lost someone in the family or close family. My loss can not be bigger than my neighbor's loss. But, with heavy hearts, questions will be asked and should be asked.

Like the previous US president who put his signature on the stimulus checks but famously said ‘I don’t take responsibility’ when asked about the deaths. Narcissists will do what narcissists must. The good is always because of them, but the bad is never their fault. The narcissists prayer sums it up perfectly.

    That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
    And if I did...
    You deserved it.

Thanks for your first feedback. I guess all narcissists have spoonos who see to it that boss's ego is blown to the full on every available opportunity and the boss is happy.

    Dear Hariji,
I agree with every word that you say.
    That is the situation here.
But we are helpless and frustrated. Right now govt. Is interested in only Hinduism and such things!!! Reminds me of "Nero is playing fiddle when war is going on!". Yes...they are interested only in elections and politics.

You have penned down everything what every Indian would/should feel right now! It feels like a blasphemy to write about the current scenario in India and PR machinery works over time to save the image of the supreme leader. It is quite similar to Gobels for carrying out propaganda for Hitler, we have Shah and IT cells working 365 days.

The greed for showcasing him as a demigod and constant reminder to his followers that he is the savior of hinduism! But in real, he is not only exploiting his post and powers but also stealing commendable credit from the producers of Covid vaccines, vast army of selfless doctors, nurses, health service workers, ambulance drivers, graveyard worker and the list goes on.

The biggest problem is the government's mishandling of the situation Experts panel on the pandemic warned in April last year that a second wave was expected. The warning was repeated in November but the government was caught napping. When corona first appeared, the government should have boosted the medical infrastructure. It even announced a fund for it but nope nothing was done. We had enough vaccine shots last December but the government exported a lion's share of it to over 70 nations forgetting that charity begins at home. And leaders showed criminally irresponsible behaviour organizing poll rallies where the COVID 19 protocol was given the go by. To rub salt into the wounds there was Kumbh mela, in Haridwar, where millions rubbed shoulders not bothering about, masks, social distancing or hygiene. Frankly, we welcomed the second wave by laying the red carpet for it.

What kind of scientific approach to the virus do you expect from a government that has commissioned a study on the possibility of Gayatri Mantra as a cure for the virus?

The chant "Go Corona Go..." with ringing of bells, and various kinds of cymbals.... was seen by my Amreeki friend and he asks me to explain. This was confusing to them, because in their practice of such chants, Corona will be a sports-team or a competitor (even a racehorse) in the field trying to succeed, win, beat the opposition.

Here is mexican goal keeper Jesus Corona, No1 in Green, not social distancing: [IMG]

I thought it was B&W ...but it is a color photo of our netaji... hahaha..

    Syamalaji,
I can understand. I have lost two my niece and younger brother. I understand it now, how statistics are so relevant when one loses own family member. Not that condition in other countries is less severe but India is in real bad spot.
Just take care and say home.
