:hello:Confusion could be in selecting a book for reading on account of factors like stoutness, too many pages making book heavy on hand, font size and close prints, dull pages, odd shape and size etc.
The other set of factors are depends do you like novels centering around politics Love triangles and your expectation depending on gender profession education marital status...and so on and so forth.
Best to start with is a thin book containing few short stories for children in huge prints light to handle.
I keep handy several small books of jokes short stories for adults a d children as well and at random open any page read any cartoons.
You have another choice. There IS A fiction FORUM in IL WEBSITE where you find good stories written and posted by our fellow IL'ites.
Now you decide a d let us know.
    Regards.
    God bless.

I would like to get an interpretation of his theory.
Anyone following these book clubs do let me know.

    1. Big Magic : Elizabeth Gilbert : the standout sentence: it aint what they call you, it is what you answer to.

i am thinking of putting it as wallpaper on my phone and laptop.
A good book that talks about creativity. this had been on my to read list for a long time, but i think the time wasnt right. and i am glad that i read it.

    2. Chandrakanta santati part 1 & 2 : fantasy again : in hindi: it is extremely well written with so many different characters and a complex story line all beautifully woven together, you just cant lose track of the story. and it is not yet complete, there are several parts i guess !! Touchwood!!

    3. Small Gods: Terry Pratchett: Brilliant book by Terry Pratchett !
This book is a satire on institutionalized religion, it is a book both for religious people as well as atheists. Pratchett doesn't mock belief but the way religion uses this belief. i have been recommending this book to everyone i meet, so please read this book for yourself and decide what this book meant for you !!

:hello:It is said books are food for mind. But to have a sound mind, one has to have a robust body. But robust body is not attainable just be reading books or only eating foods.
In tamil it is said food should be like medicine & medicine should be like food.
With this in mind, one must look for a bible that gives suggestion and ideas to enjoy good health & nimble mind simultaneously.

One such book is illustrated here. But alas it is in Hindi the national language of India. There could be an English edition too. Google could help.
My son delighted his “ MA” today by presenting this book to my spouse . I too read at random and she too. It can serve as a reference book too.
    Doctor Agarwal’s have authored containing 262 + pages ₹100.

I had fun ‘reading’ your bookshelf! That’s an impressive breadth of genres. If this is your personal shelf color me impressed! You are quite the adventurous reader. I hope you don't mind some idle conjecture. Did some of these books once belong to younger minds? The management, leadership and self-help titles point towards an up and coming business exec perhaps; one who isn’t averse to the occasional campy romance? The blurb for Plz...Kiss Me or Kill Me is scandalous! I’m dying to learn the fate of the love lorn medicos. :grinning:
