For me to do base camp trek of Mt.Everest.
    Quite doable.

I wanted to go abroad...biggest ambition when I was younger.
I want to settle down in India...biggest ambition now :)

Jokes apart..no matter how much I break my head..my ambitions have all come true...

Starting to eat in a five star hotel atleast once, wearing a short skirt ,lying down on the beach and listening to the sound of waves and looking at the sky, laughing together as a family, spending time with my best friend etc..

sounds funny?sounds like is this an ambition?

well..honestly..the above is all I ever wanted from the time I was young and now of course priorities have changed and so my desires but never once my ambition was related to being something extraordinary in a career,or being rich,or be some celebrity or be a social worker etc etc..honestly not that it is wrong. It is absolutely great and amazing but just not for me..

I used to kill myself to be someone with "DREAM BIG" etc etc..but no matter how hard I try..the above are the only things that truly gives me happiness.

Can I call those ambitions?I don't know but hey when I am very old..I can sincerely look back at my life and smile with no regrets :)

    What are your biggest ambitions?

My ambition or wishes list keeps changing. I don't stick to one particular thing. If you ask me after few months it might not be the same list. Some of my ambitions are from childhood and some got added on the way.

    • Reconnect to all my school and childhood friends
    • Become a surfer
    • Become a certified diver
    • Become multilingual (Spanish, French, Chinese)
    • Become a pastry chef
    • Grow my own herbs and veggies garden
    • Visit all the biggest cities in the world
    • Live a healthy, peaceful, and happy life
    • Become a better person than I was yearday
    • Live life with little or no regrets
    • and finally, appreciate all the little things in my life

My biggest dream is now to leave everything and stay with my parents.

I am working full time and last few years literally gave me different perception towards family , life , job.. etc

I now just want to stay and slow down on everything in my life..

But I do know its almost impossible.

Ambitions in life keep changing, before it was professional success and accomplishments..
Right now, my focus has shifted and my ambition would be to see my kids be happy and successful in their life.

To run a homestay in India for one year. It will be one that is already operational. The owners prolly need someone to run the place for a year while they go visit their children and do some traveling too. Preferably in South India but many other locations will also do.

The place will be about one to two hours from the nearest big city. Not too far. Hilly and hidden streams, maybe an unnamed waterfall that so few people visit that there is no distinct path to it. Old bungalow style house from the Colonial era offering tons of books, easy and adventurous nature walks, a 150 year old bridge nearby. A train passes through the area twice a day, stopping at the station that is open-air with a small 10x12 office for the station manager.

The staff is well-trained and the homestay runs by itself. All I have to do is wear pastel color cotton sarees, look well-slept, well-rested, minimal make-up, and dignified and talk with the guests, draw out their stories and make them feel at home.

Thread asks about ambition. If it was just me, this would be an ambition I could pull off with some doses of reality to temper the expectations. As it is not just me, it is a dream. So what ... like a wise woman once said -- A heart without dreams is like a bird without feathers.

Oh, and all the phones would be landline rotary ones in the homestay. Guests need to use these to contact staff or manager. Tea would be made in old-fashioned metal tea kettle over a wood fire. No coffee served inside the mainstay. : ) Nothing against coffee : ) just that it would lead to a unique talking point in the reviews online -- a S. India homestay where coffee is served but only by an outside provider in the verandah, not part of the mainstay's menu.
