I joined a workout program which runs from 6.30-7.30 AM 3 times a week. It is high intensity. After class is done I take a shower and then finish my kitchen work for an hour. Now the problem is I'm extremely tired while doing kitchen work. Around 1pm I literally crash into bed for an 30 min nap. But after this nap time I generally regain all the energy . On days I don't exercise I don't have this problem . I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to overcome this tiredness. I checked with my instructor and she suggested a protein drink. Unfortunately I get constipated with the milk protein and I don't like vegan protein powder. I'm not a breakfast person. I have tried drinking green tea/ coffee but nothing can stop this need to sleep. Any suggestions ?

Can you eat a high-protein snack instead? Nuts, trail mix, eggs, tofu, cheese, breakfast burritos etc and a banana will give you a good combination of fat, protein and carbs to stave off fatigue.

Once I start eating I cannot stop eating :anguished:. So I trained my body to start my eating window close to 11. This way I consume required calories. Once first morsel of food goes inside my mouth after that there is no stopping but if I don't eat I'm totally fine.

It’s considered normal to feel tired and sleepy after intense workout. Don’t sleep more than 20-30 minutes. Try having banana 30-40 minutes before your workout for few days and see you still feel the same. After workout try having fresh apple, berries, banana, spinach, kale juice. Most important thing drink plenty of water.

Can you take a gap between kitchen work and workout?

Try doing the kitchen work after a break - sit down and drink water or whatever is allowed outside the eating window.

Good that your workout time is at the end of your fasting window, so your body will definitely benefit from the workout...

You're feeling sleepy because of the sugar/insulin spike due to the 11am breakfast after fasting overnight.. Can you replace the meal with low glycemic index foods and see if there is a change in your sleepiness? Eat slowly and in limited portions. Salads, sprouts, greens will slow the insulin/ sugar spike..

    Keep smiling

@hrastro the time between my workout and my work is not more than an hour so I try to finish kitchen work during that time . Honestly once I sit for work I don’t even want to get up from my chair that is how I feel .I tried doing some kitchen work before the class but that made me really tired during the class . Ideally after workout if I shower and not do any house work that would be perfect but house has to run . I agree that after I eat I do see extreme need to sleep . I’m vegetarian so even if I try to include proteins still my diet is filled with carbs . I cannot eat eggs too . I push the nap time to lunch time so I don’t miss any meetings at work . In fact I regain my energy only after nap time till that time it is struggle between my body and my need to sleep .

Thank you I’m really trying to cope up with this routine but man that nap time feels like best time of the day.
I have become like those toddlers who become cranky if they don’t nap . I crash like a stone during that time . I cannot even open my eyes if I want to .
