I'm looking for a steam cleaner under $50 - 75 which has mop attachment to mop the floors. Also please recommend a steam cleaner which has the on/off button in the hose handle - I mean kids can also handle this so that no need to carry the cleaner unit.

I change steam mops every 1.5 - 2 years. I don’t like to keep it till it breaks or becomes worthless. This is my current one little pricey but good comes with other accessories.

I never had any issues with this but one of my friend had complained saying it leaves swirl marks. Before using this you need to sweep the floor first otherwise it spins the dirt everywhere.

These are few I have used them long back. Only thing is you should not fill the water when it is plugged, efficient for small areas.

@Flyhigher thanks for your response. I will definitely look into your recommendations. Could you please suggest any model which has a mop plus a detachable hand held unit. I saw in one of the youtube videos but forgot to note down the name.

These are hand held detachables I know. I have this first one for about 6 months.

Once after your purchase register your product going to their website, It’s best to buy protection plan/extended warranty of you are planning to keep it for longer period.

I thought steamer is the huge thing we rent from the grocery store or related store to steam the carpet once in few years after a long discussion about renting steamer or getting someone to come and do the steaming.

I checked the two mentioned above. Questions:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X4THX6/ - it says hardwood floor steam cleaner. Won't the steam cause the wood floor to warp?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082YPRJV3/ - title says it is for outdoor use, but the description says it is for indoor and outdoor use. Would it be safe to use it on indoor floors and tiles?

@Rihana the huge steamer from Safeway etc is for deep cleaning whereas the ones which we all can normally have is for quick use. That is my understanding.

    Based on my research :

    1. Small ones like Bissell steamshot costs around $40 but the run time is very less - it needs to be refilled - as the water tank capacity is less. Also the tank is not visible so we have to stop when the steam gets less.

    2. Big ones are more durable costing around $120 or more. Water tank capacity is more so the run time. I want a detachable model so that I can use hand held for kitchen cleaning and the mop for tile floors.

I' m considering that model but still contemplating. This one has a transparent water tank so when good to see the water level and also we don't have to press hold the entire time. So that checks the boxes for me.

Do you know what all can it be used for in kitchen cleaning other than tiled floor?

I will be using it mainly for kitchen and bathroom cleaning. I am looking for detachable too and want to stick to brands like Bissell.

Random thought: Why do these images mostly show a woman using the steam cleaner. And why does she need to have that dreamy happy look on her face. I know beholding a clean floor can be blissful but no one can look as serene during cleaning as the women they show. False advertising.

For kitchen : stove top, stove knobs, kitchen hood vent, vent filter, cutting board, sink, faucets, all steel appliances exterior, counter top etc etc....I'm planning to try on dosa pan, kadai, steel utensils like the cooker insides which doesn't look shiny enough.

In QVCtv or similar ads, men do demonstrate the product :)

You mean this rug doctors from Walmart/homedepot/lowe's?
Mighty Pro X3 Commercial Pro | Rug Doctor

Yes the steam can cause swelling and damage the floor. Usually experts suggest not to use high heat steam cleaner/any steam cleaners on engineered wood ,laminated, vinyl, unsealed solid wood and adhesive tile floors.
Steam cleaner are best for porcelain and ceramic tile floors and sealed solid wood floor only certain extent.

Even I had the same doubt and contacted customer service before purchase. It can be used indoor too, its safe for tile floor if it is not adhesive.
Our kitchen, living, dining, bathroom, patio are porcelain floor and bedrooms are solid wood floor. Every week I steam clean only tile areas and dry mop bedrooms. once in 2/3 months I steam clean bedrooms. I have been using this for indoor tile area, patio floor, garage floor, to clean windows, outdoor furniture, grout cleaning. So far so good.

After having a bad experience with Shark product support I turned to Bissell.
