    @iyerviji
    My dear Viji
    Thank you for your first nomination of Kids Playing Happily Without Masks by @Needtobestrong
    I have also noticed such carelessness where I live. As the responses to the post point out, many think that children are less vulnerable to contract the disease. On the contrary, the new virus that has started rearing its head here seems to target children in particular. Parents, probably feeling worn out, seem ok about the reopening of the schools. I only hope the vaccine proves successful.
    A post that shows heartfelt social concern.

    Thank you for your nomination of The Year That Was - Count Your Blessings by @satchitananda
    A very interesting post that brings out the plus and minus of Covid strike. About the plus, the accompanying picture tells us all. A healthier atmosphere is another big plus. Yes, we did learn we could work from home. I heartily join her wish,
    That's a good one from Satchi!

    @Viswamitra
    My dear Viswa
    Thanks for that rapid fire with your second nomination of Measure For Measure by @Thyagarajan
    I must first thank him for the extra-sized fonts which are a boon for old guys with myopic eyes like me!
    It is the kind of post that has Thyagu's stamp very clearly. He has embellished his post with a poignant quote from Steve Jobs.
    He raises a point on new year wishes,
    'In absolute terms, these wishes - do they make any difference?'
    I ask the same question year after year!

    Dear Cheeniya Sir,

    I am here to nominate @DDream's reply to @Ruby2019 Forgiving In Laws. She gave very practical advice as to how to deal with Ruby's situation. Self-preservation emerges from the courage one builds to overcome the battle in the mind. One needs to love oneself in order to love others. In fact, I liked every response in this thread (including @Rihana's response) but I ended up wearing your hat to select one out of many best responses.

    All of @Thyagarajan's snippets bring a smile to the face, but the one below stands out like a song we remember long after it stops playing, a sunset we recall many days later, or the unexpected small kindness of a friend or stranger that means a lot and remains in our mind.

    What Has Your Spouse Done That You Cherish The Most?

    The unqualified acknowledgement, expression of gratitude and the short length of prose in which those are accomplished are so worthy of nomination. I ran out of nominations last month, so now ...

    Thank you @Rihana
    This is the best gift I received and that too on the first day of the new year. I look at it as a good omen for the rest of the year.

    My apologies for being late. Was busy getting stuff ready to send with my offspring.
    Then became occupied with world shattering matters. It seems the Earth is spinning faster (yeah, it was slowing down but suddenly has picked up speed) and the atomic clock keepers are having a tough time constantly having to adjust the leap second. Perhaps this is making matters worse in the world... me wonders:confundio1::D

    I enjoyed reading about your college days, hiding textbooks.
    Mmmm ... I would have used that 3 books for 60 students as excuse for not doing my homework. Also was thinking why I did not try your idea to hide that novel that was always checked out whenever I wanted it. Too late:hmmm:.

    Wishing you, your family, and everyone in IL a happy, healthy, and safe 2021 and Happy Sankranthi with a beer toast:beer-toast1:.

    @Rihana
    Get carried away as many times as you want!
    Thank you for your nomination of the post by @kkrish in the thread Does The Sun Always Rise In The Same Direction? No.
    That nomination by you is a fitting tribute to our resident astronomer. kkrish has a way of narrating her space stories that we get hooked to her and make us cry 'Gimme more'! Astronomy was in my curriculum in my post graduation and I used to labour hard to understand all about planetary movements. But after listening to our Resident Astronomer here I felt that she would have been a great hit as a Professor of Astronomy!
    Wish kkrish visits us more often as in the past!

    Thank you for your nomination of Memories! by @Srama
    I am always at a loss for words when I have to respond to a nomination of a post by Srama.
    With an Indian Vice President and that too, a Lady, there will be great demand for Ethnic wear in US.
    @Balajee has opined that sarees are not suitable in this age of fast track but here in my part of India, sarees have made a solid come-back. In the TV serials all the top stars appear only in saree!
    An interesting post this is!

    Thank you for your nomination of the response by @Thyagarajan to the thread What Has Your Spouse Done That You Cherish The Most?
    A crumpled newspaper used for packing groceries changed the course of life of our beloved narrator Thyagu.
    The crumbled newspapers have a greater value than the current ones! That's an interestingly narrated story of a page from the past newspaper.
    Good one!
