What do you think about husband and wife sharing their GPS location with each other? Each constantly knowing the other's whereabouts. Do you share? Would you? : )
We share when we are on vacation as I am known to get lost and need someone to come find and fetch me. : ) I tried convincing the family that we should always share as it will help in case of emergencies. I pointed out news stories of people who were in a car crash went down a cliff, or took a detour and ended up in an accident in a forest kind of area. These people credited their rescue to find-your-friends kind of apps. But family said no can do. I settled for telling them, 'As long as I am paying for your car insurance, you have to share.'
The children made the parents share location with them first, before we knew we could do that. Yes, we all did/do. We also carry that "ICE" card in wallets, which was the practice before the smart phones came along.. ICE= In Case of Emergency...etc...[sufficient info for contact, but not too much in case the wallet is lost/stolen]
Only when absolutely needed.. like when long travels alone, when venturing into unknown areas alone or when I want to feel safe .. because I always end up puzzled with routes and roads and get lost easily. Other than for the said few reasons, I personally just don’t like the idea of being tracked all the time.
Yes, we do! We rarely ever look at the location though. Something a friend did a long time ago and we all never changed the settings. Now, we know where our two best friends and us are at all times (if we want to).
Won’t work in favour of my perfected deception that I am only two minutes away in the next lane, abhi aa rahi hoon, idhar hi hoon, though I might be gallivanting at the far end of the city two hours away, deeply immersed, speculating the origin of the oriental carpet hung in a souk. All hell will break loose on sharing location during city breaks and vacations (Will backfire for unscrupulous miscreants like me.)
