    Thank you very much @Venkat20 .
    I remember seeing her video before while searching. Will try to follow it and see if I am successful in making my own top. The only thing which is confusing is the folding she starts with. She says lenghtwise fold once and then breadthwise fold again.
    Now if I fold it lenghtwise ;imagine a saree length, I am not sure if I will be doing it right. Has anyone repurposed a saree for this??

    When I start learning I took one old top and removed the stitch completely, iron properly then fold the top front, widthwise once and follow the same on saree then cut. Apply same on back side too.
    Being first time you can use newspaper.
    Good luck

    Thank you so much for the tip. I will try it out like you said. I just bought a brother machine to stitch as a hobby. The machine which was selling for 100$ in Dec 2019 is selling for 300$ now. Ridiculous pricing because of covid and mask making :facepalm:

    Wow, thank you. I hope your project goes well. At first I didnot know which machine to buy and I didnot want to spend too much so endded up with this machine for now. If it helps me do the basic stuff I will be so happy.

    Is it possible for you to take pics if not a video of your churidhar stitching?

    @mitali123
    I kept front neck depth as 7 inches and back neck 10 inch round neck. I still had problem with the shoulder. Atlast I kept tags on both shoulder to tie at the back.
    If possible can you take a video and share with me which will be really helpful.
    Thanks. Please see my post pictures

    :hello: Once as a school student, I happened to wait for collecting the stitched material from Taylor. The master cutter Dayalan was in the meanwhile marking with some blue marker on a pink cloth some curves and straight lines and cutting along those drawn blue niles smoothly with help of large scissors.

    I asked him what is the item being made with that cut cloth. He said, this is the item for which you are waiting to collect. I felt pissed off. Initially when I asked for mom’s blouse, it will be ready in few minutes. I waited waited and then this was the status.

    After this incident, I felt if a machine is available and if I can learn cutting nitty gritties I would turn into a Taylor. It is money spinning job then. Mom bought machine from her chit fund amount and she started making clothes at home. I too learnt stitching and cutting: but I remained at amateur level.

    A good Taylor I suppose should be able to keep in memory the frame, shape of wearer to bring out perfectly stitched item.

    Wish OP all the best and Happy New Year.
