Asking behalf of a friend- Coz I have 0 to very less knowledge on this issue.

So my friend has been applying to move from her company for better pay/ better work atmosphere, better work-life balance and of course a better position as well.
She received an offer letter as well. She hasn't accepted it yet.

However, she is panicking coz she recently started to use a beauty oil advertised as an anti-aging/scar-removing oil that had to be ingested.
But she found out that the oil is hemp seed oil. She says she didn't read the ingredient label and bought based on reviews.
She has been panicking that it will show up on the drug test.

The ingredients on the product label are so hard to understand- the product says hemp seed oil. But in the description says the raw material is leaves.
The oil is FDA, MSDS, GMP certified.

Will it show up on the drug test? She has also ordered a home drug test before she accepts the offer letter.

Apparently, she is in a very bad zone after she found out about the oil and reading all about hemp oil/ CBD oil, and all the articles have information that comes across "maybe" not a definite "yes" or "no" that there will be traces of it in the drug test.

She is saying that in hair drug tests everything shows up.

I just don't know what to advise.

I also don't know much but am interested in knowing more about the tests and what people do. Few questions, ignore any if needed.
    - Is this in the U.S or another country?
    - Does the official drug test happen before or after company sends the formal offer letter?
    - If the thing does show up on her drug test, won't she get a chance to say which product it was due to and that it is FDA etc approved?
    - If she stops taking the product, waits for some days and then does the drug test, will it still show up?

I did not know that even oils can show up in drug tests.
Is it urine or blood test? I have given those tests next morning after loads of vodka late nights and tests came out fine. Unless you drink like many many bottles and other drugs, it should be fine. It all goes in blood and flushes out in the morning.
Also if she stops usage for few days before test, would help.

Vodka is an alchohol beverage but hemp/Cbd oil relates to narcotics.

It depends how strict the company is. In her shoes I would get a private test from a lab before giving a sample to the employer.
Reddit can also be a useful place for such information. Don’t reveal too may details though.
Offer letters are either conditional on successful completion of required tests or are formally sent after passing.

I would recommend reading this article: CBD Oil Drug Test: Does It Show Up & Should You Worry? | Weedmaps

“There are also different types of drug tests that can be used, all of which present different detection thresholds. For instance, a hair test is made to detect habitual substance use, so it will probably not raise any red flags even if you are consuming CBD oil that has low levels of THC.

Urine and oral drug screenings have a lower threshold for detection, so there is slightly more risk with these tests, according to a December 2018 article published in Vice. While it's possible that the small amounts of THC that exist within a CBD product could accumulate and show up in a drug test, it's still highly unlikely.”

basically, if your friend isn’t a regular user, she needn’t even worry.

Yes this is a US company
After she accepts the offer letter, she has to gets to take a drug test.
She nor did I know that she gets a chance to justify it.
Apparently she has to undergo a hair follicle drug test. She is saying that as it is a fair follicle drug test, the chemical in the system doesn't leave for 30+days.

    -Update-
She is still negotiating her offer and she has also ordered a home follicle drug test
And she spoke to her husband's friends and one person told her that usually, the drug testing company gets back to her if there is any abnormality. And the oil may not not show up at all.

Thank you once again ladies for giving me more info. I did pass it on to her and she is a bit more relaxed now.
