Its a relief to know it went by 6 months. Eventhough my baby does not show any severe symptoms of reflex he does grunts a lot and very fussy entire day except for the night. I dont know if it has anything to do with reflux or its just his nature. With my first kid i never had any of these issues we just visit dr only for vaccines. But with 2nd baby its just 2 months and we had numerous visits so far. Hopefully mine get over reflux soon.Your kheer sounds delicious will try it. I try to include more healthy options but sometimes i find no energy to cook. I am handling 6 year old, his online class, 2 month old cleaning cooking its very tiring at end of the day. Wish my mom was here.

What is hypoallergenic formula? Did you look at the ingredients? How is he feeding? My personal experience is to not try any of these so called custom formulas for babies especially. Just stop consuming whatever is causing the allergy for time being and continue with your breast milk. If giving water is permitted then give him some in the morning. That will dilute the stomach acid and help him with reflux. Mine had severe reflux as well the second time, but I think it had a lot to do with my diet in the second pregnancy. I couldn't eat on time in the morning. It used to be 9.30 by the time I ate some breakfast. In the afternoon I would eat a light lunch and some snack at 4 pm. Then at home I used to finish dinner by 7.30 p.m. From then to 9.30 am next morning I wouldn't eat anything. And in between there were days during 5th month I just didn't get enough to eat because we were out of town. I never thought it would manifest as reflux in my baby. A lot of suffering for him because of my diet and the pediatrician's stupid advice to give him protein supplement when he was a toddler.

If your baby has severe reflux you can ask the doctor for medications. They will prescribe antacids and they are safe to use. Water is generally not advised till at least 6 months.

So sorry to hear you are handling two small kids alone with cooking cleaning and kids school etc. but this shall pass very soon. Feel lucky you don’t have to leave your small baby at daycare like many other moms. Enjoy this bonding time with baby. There are many good ideas given by experienced moms here. I would suggest u to be happy about what u have. We tend to get stressed anxious so often with small kids. Practice to keep relaxed and positive mind always. Kids r watching you and learning every day. Happy mother happy healthy kids. U can just sock 2 spoons of methi seeds once a week and keep in fridge and eat 10 seeds every day. That will help u to get more milk. First two months are hardest for mother because of frequent feeding, no sleep pattern but it will get better with time.

My strong advice to you, don't try that hypoallergenic formula, I am concerned because you mentioned that it tastes horrible, that is a big red flag if you ask me. Maybe you should try things that improve digestion for yourself and try to feed him. Breast milk is best. You could try regular lactose intolerant formula if you are compelled to try formula.

Hypoallergic formula is specifically made for babies who has colic, lactose intolerant and other stomach related issues or allergies. Corn solids syrup is the 1st main ingredient and comes veg oil and other items which are not satisfactory at all. Infact i went to target straight from doctor's office to grab some enfamil nutrimigen which is HA formula but aft seeing the price of $30 for 12oz small can i was kind of skeptic what goes inside the formula. So posted in IL to get some advice. Good that i looked for second opinion here with other moms. My baby is gaining weight good but dr thinks he wants more milk and so he feeds every 30 min. Drs presumption actually is not right. During his evening witch hours nothing could console except my feed and those time i used to feed every 30 min. As per other moms advice i continue to give my milk i just dont want to try any formula and make it unnecessarily complicated with the lil baby who is drinking from me happily touchwood.

So do you say that not eating on time would create reflux in BF babies. How is your kid doing now. I thought reflux comes only for infants because their digestive system is still forming.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes i do try to be positive but lack of help and the crazy pandemic situation all adds to my anxiety and stress. Thanks for the methi tip i will follow it. As of now i am just taking oats for bf so that gives good supply of milk and other light meals entire day not much of nuts or beans or anything that is filling so i keep feeling hungry dont know what to eat. Slowly i have to include nuts and other fruits so that i dont starve myself.

you are doing good. Every mother try her best. Keep lot of fruits handy to munch on. It’s my biggest regret that I didn’t eat fruits. It’s natural vitamin for you and baby. Banana, blueberries, cherries, apples etc. u can buy every weekend ready to eat baby spinach and make smoothie from spinach and fruits. I am telling you, it will go long way for your health and baby s health. I used to eat rice roti dal curries but now I regret for not eating fruits before.
If your baby is turning on floor let him play on floor. His turning will be good exercise and will help digestion.

Dont go for formula feed. Do not doubt about your breastmilk supply. Consult a lactation counsellor regarding the issues. Join your local La Leche League community for all things related to breastfeeding. Is the baby evaluated for tongue tie?

While I am not a pediatrician or an expert in child nutrition, I can tell you with confidence, reflux has nothing to with infant digestive system, being colic has to do with that. My older one used to cry all of a sudden sometimes, we used to go nuts checking his diaper, feeding him and then holding his back straight and patting him etc. Until he crossed 6 months, he had occasional crying due to the colic problem. The second one never had colic problem but would just throw up if fed with excess milk by mistake, he used to always bend his head in pain while feeding because of the reflux and unlike the first one he used to feed only once in 6 hours, if at all he suckled it was just for comfort, not for feeding. And as a toddler, it was nightmare feeding him. He would throw up even if a little more food was given to him (like solid food followed by a cup of milk). While reflux may not be necessarily related to pregnancy diet, in my case it was. A couple of moms in my circle said they had the same problem. And yes, they too could not eat properly because it was second pregnancy and they did not have enough help to look after their diet. The problems we faced with the second one, I wish none face those problems - under eating, very picky eating, dry skin, asthmatic symptoms and more. The protein supplement prescribed by the doctor as compensation was the worst, it complicated things further. That's why I fear processed foods, especially these custom formula. Please go through the ingredients list and make sure they are all totally natural. This is just a suggestion, at the end, it's your call.
