There is a Dermatologist near my home. After COVID he did Telemedicine. When I had question for him 2 months ago the office said the Dermatologist is neither in the clinic, nor doing Telemedicine. No one knew when he was going to return. Now I have a re-occurring rash on my upper arms (so much for wearing a sleeveless saree blouse!). When I tried contacting the Dermatologist, the front desk still says he is neither in the clinic, nor doing Telemedicine. Something smells fishy!!!! When I selected a far-away Dermatologist to do Telemedicine, she suggested seeing a local Dermatologist. But the local Dermatologists are too far away for me. Plus certain places I must pass through have higher COVID rates, and crimes are on the rise. I am frustrated. Why on Earth would a Dermatologist not come into the office, and not do Telemedicine for 2 months. And how could the office NOT KNOW when the Dermatologist is returning? My venting!
The doctor may have simply chosen to take a long leave, or may not be seeing certain patients especially if you are not a regular patient. If he has an independent practice he is free to set his hours and choose his cases. There is nothing suspicious about that. I would move on to a different provider.
Darn it ----I would hope he'd send a letter to his patients. I was a regular. One Doctor from my past mailed her patients that she was relocating ----- and I visited her at her new location. Alas ..... he was down-to-Earth and knowledgeable. And the clinic respected Patient's time. What a wonderful way to honor someone by respecting their time.
Nothing fishy about it. Maybe this doctor has some health issue that puts him at risk for COVID and doesn't want to risk it by coming back to work, just a thought to consider.
