    (To buy in India)
Which Brand and Material for Pressure Cooker would you recommend as safe and good quality in India?
size 3 Litres or around 3L size

I think there is Stainless Steel, Aluminum and Anodized Aluminum
I believe Stainless Steel better - but like to check with folks here.

Also - Do you prefer something like Prestige or Hawkins ? or some other brand?

I bought Prestige stainless steel cookers on my last trip to India, the kind that be be used on induction. My mom is a lifelong Prestige devotee.

As far as material, Go with Staineless steel and avoid Aluminium.
Brand wise, Like @MalStrom mentioned, my mom also bought only Prestige. here in my in laws house they buy premier too. My personal choice is Prestige.

I love my Hawkins stainless steel
Cooker. Have had it for almost 8 years with no change in any parts, not even the Gasket.

Manufacturers themselves recommend pressure gasket need to be changed once in twelve months or eighteen months depending upon usage. This could be for silicon. Rubber gasket may not last for more than six months.

I bought one brand with isi mark. Luckily I was at home with its first use. We both just then out to hall and there the cooker burst with lid hitting
the ceiling and the gas stove broke into two . No fire. I managed close the gas cylinder. The cooker turned a mangled mass. This was in mumbai in 1994-95. I learnt never to take chances with kitchen appliances.

The best of all the brands seem to be prestige Al alloy. Stainless steel some do complain about extra fuel and reduction in life of gasket.

    All the best and Regards.
