    Hi,
How are you all keeping up with your regular or required medical /dental considering the pandemic?
I didn't went to a dentist for a regular cleaning or annual physical with my PCP.
I didn't think of any doctor visits until may. Then I had some issues and pain in the jaw. And it requires multiple doctor visits and I have been going.
I was so hesitate and worried to go. But you won't believe it, in all the places where I have been, it's very crowded like usual.
I had to go to a physical therapist appointment and I see lots of people coming in.
I did chat with the PT about it and she was telling me that people are coming to the facility now and it was very bad till last month and we had no patients in the office. Had only televisits.
So, how are you all keeping up with your appointments?

Depends on the issue, if you have some pain or trouble then you dont have a choice.
If its a bit more optional type treatment, then can postpone.

One of my elders (high-risk for COVID) must see Doctor in person. He waits outside the waiting room and walks around. The receptionist is kind enough to call him when its his turn.

Lot of insurance waive Telemedicine copay.

Yeah. Insurance covers tele visit. But I didn't use it much. That doesn't help in my case as I need in person visits.
I remember you were going to a physiotherapy sessions before. Are you continuing it or telehealth appointments?

I luckily got all my preventive care done in February so that’s out of the way. I need to have an elective procedure done and I’m dragging my feet on that but more due to logistical issues since family won’t be able to come to help. My husband is In the middle of some extensive dental procedures and he has been keeping his appointments.

You are very lucky to have those in February. I didn't do that and mine was due in June and October. I postponed both.
I have been going for appointments dental, ent and medical. Now started with PT visits. Since my area of pain is in the jaw and neck, I had to have the close contact with the dentist or any other healthcare worker.
One of my friend who is a doctor in India told me that we can't or shouldn't avoid the health issues because of covid and we have to keep going with the necessary appointments.
I tried so hard to avoid PT and tried few sessions of tele visits. That doesn't help. I had to do it with in person visit. Every visit comes with it's own scariness and weird feelings though.
Hope you and your husband feel better soon. Dental procedures really sucks. I had one last month. Don't know how long it's going to be like this.

I have postponed all medical consultations, so have my family members...I have chronic issues but just continuing my previous meds till it becomes safer to step out...had a couple of online consults first for general issues..
