    My condition is weird.
I lose lot of hair everyday and the hair keeps falling all over the floor... I get my health check up annually ... my thyroid levels are ok.. but low on bit-d and b12.
Any reason for such hair fall from past 20 years ?

I have heard that vitamin D deficiency might cause hair fall. Do you take biotin?

I am using biotin and prenatal/multi vitamins. Currently pregnant so I stopped biotin, but I will start after the baby is born. I recommend taking some kind of multi vitamin. Also, eating your greens is important.

    Congratulations !!!
my iron is well with in range... I used to take multivitamins during breastfeeding... but stopped after that... I heard that prolonged usage of multi vitamins is also not good. I am a vegetarian... and usually include lentils and veggies in my diet regularly....
I will try biotin this time...

Not sure about the prolonged use of multivitamins. I check with my doctor before taking anything. So after myfirst kid, i didn't really use any kind of birth control, so my doc recommended being on prenatal vitamins in case I get pregnant. When we were TTC which took over a year to get pregnant (and my older one is 9 now, I never stopped prenatal after DD is born) it did really help. Also i was very active (min 5 days of exercise 45 min per day) so I never suffered from severe hairfall.

IMO, if you know you are eating a well balanced diet and have no deficiencies you do not need to take multivitamins or even biotin. It is wise to check with your doctor.

B12 and B6 are very important for good hair.Take some multivitamins and fermented foods. If you are a vegetarian try dosa, idli, adai which are fermented foods.Flax seeds and amla are amazing for healthy hair. Also,if you have body heat try cooking foods.Keep stress levels in check. Some places where we live has water problem.Check that too.Good luck.

It can be due to chronic stress, and poor blood flow to your scalp...Try a warm oil massage, if you have not.
